video out on back of the player. The plugs would be red, white & yellow as well. You may have to check you settings on your tv & player as well if it is plug in the right way. The plugs would plug into your tv's video in- red, yellow & white.

Have lenoxx ht 500 surround sound speakers & dvd but dvd is broken, need to purchase another dvd player but can't source lenoxx model, what other models can i connect surround sound to? or whe

If your surround sound receiver unit has rca audio inputs(red/white), you can hook up any brand of DVD player that has rca outputs. You would hook the yellow output from DVD player to yellow input on TV. Hook red/white output from DVD player to red/white input on surround receiver. Hope this helps.

Dvd, sound, no picture

If your DVD is external, I'd check TVs input settings: if your DVD on "progressive scan" mode, it delivers video signal via "component" connections: green, blue, red plus 2 separate red/white for the sound. If you trying to use 3 wires: yellow, red, white( composite), good chance, that the only sound is delivered. Try to switch DVD off 'progressive", if you only have 3 wires. It will deliver "picture". Or, verso-visa: using "component", 5 wires, but DVD set off "progressive scan". I've seen that confusion many times! Unless you have 'built in" DVD player. no matter what, it's must be broken! Use external DVD player, instead! $30 and trip to the store, will solve your problem. Don't want to fix TV, if everything else is alright. Myself, I never liked those "combo" units. You got stuck with mediocre TV and lousy DVD player. Better: separate them!
Good luck,
Alex.

The New TV.don't come on, keep showing no signal, don't know what is wrong, can you help us, to get it going. thank you

Hello,

The TV is turned on. The TV showing "no signal" is an indication that is turned on. Its just that the TV is not recieving any signal whatsoever from an antenna, DVD player or dish.

I suggest you connect thee TV to a DVD player. Click source on the TV remote to AV 1. Use a RCA (yellow white and red wire) for the connection.

Yellow stands for video and white and red stands for audio. Connect yellow to "vidoe out' from the DVD player to 'video in' at the back of the TV. Do the same for the audio white and red.

Now there should be a display on the TV. If there is not display, check your connection.

Let me know if need more help.

Your sincerely.

Hook up to dvd player

There are more than two methods of hooking up the DVD player.
1) Get a 5pin component cable with Red, Green & Blue pins. Connect the DVD Player's RGB out pins to the TV's RGB in socket. This will take care of the picture. Then for sound you will need the secondbobhifi_4.jpg set of Red & White cable. Connect the Red & White pins to the DVD players audio out socket (Red for right channel and White for Left channel ). The other end of the cable you can connect to the Red & White socket next to the RGB socket where you have connected the Video. Play a DVD and scroll through the inputs slowly. You will see the picture appear on one of your selections.

I'M TRYING TO HOOK UP MY INSIGNIA 42'' 1080P FLAT-PANEL LCD HDTV TO OUR DVD PLAYER USING THE COMPONENTS (RED, BLUE, GREEN, RED & WHITE CABLES) PROVIDED AND THE PICTURE IS IN BLACK & WHITE....

The three picture cords (red/blue/green) often are a little larger around than the sound cords (red/white). If they are they same size, they are often grouped separate by picture and sound. Double check to verify if you have the "red" cords correct. Good luck.

Dynex dx-32l151a11 the picture is black and white with the dvd player

With a Black and White picture it sounds like you're trying to connect the DVD Player's "Composite" connection to the TV's Component Connection.

Composite is a 3 wire system with Yellow for the video, and red and white for the audio. On your TV this connection is located on the side.

Component is a 5 wire system, with Blue, Green & Red for Video, and Red and White for audio. On your TV this connection type is located on the rear panel.

Check to make sure you are hooking the DVD player & the TV to the same input types.

Hi we had to move & unplugged the DVD/R & I dont know where to plug the cords back into the back of the player or the TV. I can get video ok but no sound. Thanks in advance.

unplug the red and white cables from dvd , next, plug only white cable in the white conector of the dvd and listen the audio, if is not ok, try in another white conector of the same dvd until you obtain good sound, do the same with the red cable.
