From the time I take my first martial arts class, approximately how long will it take me to become a black belt?

    I do Taekwondo and through my school, they said about 3 years to reach black belt.

This will require a lot of training on your behalf. Graduation from bely colors is very dependent on your discipline. Many martial arts experts would determine from the beginning it will require a minimum of 1600 hours of intense training.
