Please help - I purchased my Mother an iPod (4g NANO) for Christmas and need to know how she can hook up the iPod to her stereo system to use it as I do at home. With mine all I needed was a AUX Cable and that was it (my system not Sony) Can anyone help? I want her to be able to enjoy ASAP! Please note that she is interstate not technically minded and need to be able to run through it over the phone. Appreciate any help and thanks in advance - her stereo is a Sony CMT-HP7 shelf system

All you need is a 1/8th stereo adapter that runs two rca jacks out red/white! You can get this at any radio shack store...Plug jack 1/8th into mp3 player and the red/white jacke can plug into her aux input Or any other input!

I have a RCA 5 DISC CHANGER STEREO now i have lost my manual and am trying to figure out how i can hook my IPOD NANO Up To The MP3 Hook Up Bu Ever Time I Hook In The USB Cord And Then Connect My IPOD To...

Ipods are not very user's friendly, using usb to hook up on your system needs a lot ot processing. The simplies way is to use a pair of 3.5mm - RCA patch cord, connect to AUX. or AUDIO IN jack

Hook up ipod to LG stereo LHT784

iPod compatible usually means there's an auxiliary jack available for the iPod, which you can connect to with a 1/8th to 1/8th cable. You can pick up one of those at RadioShack, they're pretty inexpensive.

It connects the headphone jack of your iPod to the stereo.

Owner of a Sony CMT-HP7 Shelf System - how to hook up iPod Nano??

    Someone already put the user manual up on Fixya;
    http://www.fixya.com/support/p224607-sony_cmt_hp7_cd_shelf_system/manual-15506/page-25

Looks like you need a short 3.5mm jack to twin RCA lead. The RCAs will be colour coded red and white, so your mom can put them in the right sockets on the back of the Sony, with the 3.5mm plugging into the iPod. There'll be an option on the remote or the front panel to select 'Audio In' or 'Aux in' or similar.

    Ipod touch connector

    Hello serafineb,

The Alpine Full Speed cable for the iPod supports the following versions:

    Fourth generation iPod
    Fifth generation iPod
    iPod photo
    iPod mini
    iPod nano

According to their website it does not appear that Alpine currently has a cable for the iPod touch. They do, however, make a "generic" cable for most MP3 players that connects directly to the earphone jack. Although this would not allow you to control the iPod from your stereo's head unit, you should be able to connect the iPod touch via this cable to play music through your car stereo.

More information about the "generic" cable can be found here.

    Best Regards,
    Ken
