MX-850 remote. Changed batteries and now when test come on indicates RAM Fail! everything else is Good. Worked fine before this. Changed batteries several times with no lock. Any thoughts

take the batteries out for a few minutes and put em back in. Sounds like a glitch. Cutting the power should reset its functions.

Modern sealed type batteries fail in just this manner, I have seen cars that the owner got gas and went to start and doing, it was the battery. Have the battery tested by any parts store that offers the free service, AutoZone is one but there are many that do the testing free of charge. Also clean the battery cable and the try before installing a new battery with a wire brush and baking soda in warm water solution.

What kind of receiver did you get? DirecTV, Dish, or something else? This remote comes with software and cables you can connect to your computer. Once you install it, and connect the device, you can program it to connect with your specific electronic components. You may need your existing/original remotes to help get everything set up, but usually that is a one-time process.

You need to do an update from your version by clicking HELP from the application's menu bar, then select LIVE UPDATE.
...of course, you need internet access.

173 or 193 is for a directv box. It may be manufactured by another company, hughs net, rca, ect.

I found it finally!!! This stupid $10 remote was pissing me off, I couldn't find anything but ppl needing the same help as me so I thop this helps you!!! This link worked for me, and you prob want the 4 digit code b/c I also have a Sanyo I had to program. good luck, hope this helps!!
