Hey randallbmtk,my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I was reading over your post andsee that the DISH remote will not work the Phillips TV. There are some steps toget this remote programmed to your TV, we have what we call a Power Scan and itwill find the right code to your TV so you can turn it on and off. I will sendthe link to help with these steps. http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/power-scan-instructions

To program your DISH Network remote to your Sony TV you will simply- press and hold the TV Mode button until all the other mode button back lights illuminate, then release.

-Now while the TV mode button is blinking please enter in the remote code 500 which is the remote code for your Sony TV after entering 500 then press the pound (#) key.

-After pressing the # key on the DISH Network remote, the TV mode button should blink 3 times and then turn off completely. This will mean the programming of the DISH remote to your TV has been completed successfully. While still in TV mode try any of the functions on the remote, such as turning the volume up or down on your TV or attempting to press the power button.

-The DISH Network remote should now be programmed to control your TV.

-If the remote code 500 doesn't program the DISH Network remote successfully you can also try each of the following using the same procedures, 000, 590, 640, 502, 002, or 567.

Once there shoose the type of remote you have and select remote codes to get the ones for that particular remote that may operate the piece of equipment desired. My Dish Network remotes work on this TV using one of the Phillips TV codes- as Phillips makes this TV for Dell.
