Either unplug dish from tv or use the antenna side which is HD and program channels and see if volume the same, if not and is OK then it's your Dish bring your sound down or audio cables bad.

SOURCE: Vizio 42 in TV LCD HDTV white line across to of

That white line (usually jagged) is actuallly part of the transmitted picture. However, you are not intended to see it because it is located in what is known as the 5% overscan area. Your TVs today are more than just cable ready... they are a versital, technology filled multimedia display. You can see that line because the screen size or wide mode you are using is intended for 1080p/24 signals. You have 0% overscan with this screen size setting. This allows you to see ALL of the picture, including portions of the picture the broadcaster did not intend for you to see. You can change your screen size using the Wide feature in the Setup menu. See pg.62 of your user manual for details and descriptions of the various wide modes.

Unplug the TV from the wall. There must be something wrong with your circuit board. Call customer service for what to do to fix your TV or get a new one.

Go to your On-screen Menu, go to settings, select audio, then select LIP SYNC. You can then adjust the amount of shift to synchronize the pix and the audio.

On tv 2 the remote controls the volume and power but will not change channels or do anything else. went to system info in tv 1, pressed sat and power. This did not help. Batteries are new.

Hey, Jane!

I can definitely help you with this. Go to the System Info screen like before, but on the TV2 remote press the 'Record button and see if the number in 'Secondary Remote Address' changes. If it doesn't, let me know here, and I will assist you in programming it!

Our remote died to our Vizio ....checked batteries, etc...have been having problems for a while...bought a new universal Vizio remote...keyed in all the numbers....last four work...but still is not...

New TVs and older ones, even recent model changes usually have different codes. Read the new remote closely. there is a section about finding the code manually. It is a pain, but works.

We have dish network. the problem is the picture doesn't fill the screen. it just shows up in a small box. what can i try?

On your DISH remote press the format button with an asterisk on it if this doesn't correct the issue try the page up and page down buttons to the right of the volume. If neither of these correct the issue reply with your receiver model number and we can go from there!

My friend has a Vizio model E470VA and Dish network. But the Dish remote will not control the volume / mute on the tv reliability. The on/off button works perfectly. Remote has been replaced also...

Hello, my name is Becki Barned, and I am with Dish Network customer service. To program the remote to a Vizio tv, there are a couple approaches that you may take. First is, follow this link: http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/power-scan-instructions which walks you through it. Or do these steps: 1. Hold down the TV mode button until all mode buttons at the top of the remote light up, then release. 2. Punch in the code 505. 3. Press the pound (#) button on the keypad. Use either of these, and that remote will work great! Just make sure after you get the volume working, that you press the SAT button on the remote! If you have any other questions, blog back, or you can find us on Twitter!!!!

White flickering line across top of tv with non HD channels

It appears that when you go back to normal tv from hdtv you are able to see the overscan area. Change the aspect of your image with the appropriate button on your Vizio remote and or cable remote. Apparently the button that changes the aspect on the Vizio remote is the wide button. The cable remotes will usually have hd zoom (#), aspect or format.

i had this problem using dish network. my dish remote went bad so i got a new one and as soon as i programmed it volume and channel had mind of its own on both the dish remote and the original tv remote. you would hit it once and volume would go to max and vice versa when going down. ended up being the new remote was set on the uhf setting and i had to reset to the ir setting which is a small switch in remote next to batteries and then reset system info in dish receiver. problem went away instantly. both remotes work fine now. took two days to figure out and spent hours on internet looking for solution but no one had one. hope this helps.

My sky remote only works part of tv

please follow the steps below:

TV
RED + SELECT
TV
0056

try the volume if this works then press SELECT to save the code. If not then press TV again then the volume. repeat this step until the volume works then press the SELECT button to save the code.

Right you said in your post that it only works part of the tv, what this is when you have saved the code into the remote it is very close but not the correct code for the LG Model you have. So imput the code as mentioned above but when your checking the volume dont press SELECT straight away try the help button. power button etc then save that code if it works them. when it is the correct code you should be able to press the TV button then power = power . Help = changes av / source. Number button change channels etc. On certain tv's on a sky + or hd the pause/play changes the aspect ration on the tv aswell. When this sorts you out please leave a thumbs up cheers
