I have this old Hitachi Rice O-Matic rice cooker and I need to replace the removable steaming plate (metal plate with holes) which is used to steam rice after it has been cooked. I purchased a staming plate but instead I received a smal ''basket insert'' for the rice cooker.
The item was returned since this was not what I needed..you can only heat up just a little bit of rice and with the ''Removal Steaming Plate'' you can actually re-heat all the rice you want.
Now where can I get this part? Can you help me?
SOURCE: What is the separate plate that comes with the rice cooker used for?
you may wonder what those seperate plates are for. but actually you can use that for cooking other foods other than rice. you can steam veggies with the one with holes. you can even cook noodles.
hope this helps!
SOURCE: Rice Cooker Instructions
if cooking rice is your problem. you must first fill your rice cooker with rice and rinse it with water to remove excess starch when your done removing the excess starch you will have to add water for every cup of rice, 1 1/2 cups water or you can try 1:2 ratio (1 cup of rice: 2 cups of water). same goes to any other cuisines. i hope you find my solution helpful.
