LG55LH40 LCD TV wont come on

TV turned off on its own. Will not come back on. Standby light in lower right corner is solid red (standby). When I push the power on button, the red standby light cycles as usual and then has a very brief blue (it illuminates solid blue when TV works correctly) and then back to solid red (standby indicator). TV remains off during this cycle and will not come on. I have taken the back off of the TV and none of the PC boards show any visible sign of damage. No bulging caps or cracked circuits that I can see on any board. Can this be a faulty power supply board or main board?

The set will need to be properly diagnosed. It could be a defective main board or power supply.

SOURCE: WONT TURN ON

Most likely, the problem is a defective Main Processor Board. This is the board with the antenna, RCA and HDMI plugs. You cant repair or replace component parts on this board, so dont even try. You must replace the complete board. The TV says Sylvania, but it is a bloody Funia TV. Several years ago this foreign company bought out broke-azzz Sylvania . They are still carrying the Sylvania name since Sylvania was a popular TV name in the 70s. Every electronic company in the USA is now owned by the Chinese, so call Funai and order the part from them. Dont be surprise if they dont have a clue what the heck you asking for. America and all electronics have gone to the puddles. Do you know why? GREED.

SOURCE: tv turns off will turn on then off right away

the internal overload sensor is engaging to protect the system. The parts cost to replace the faulty board is about $70 But you need the skills to open the tv and change it I recommend you get a professional to do it More expensive of course but a lot safer.

Power supply is the place to look, look for bulging on top of the capacitors in the secondary side of the main power supply.

LCD TV no power but standby light on solid

The standby light means the tv is plug into the wall and getting power. A power surge can wipe out a tv and still leave the power light on.

Are you certain the replacement power supply is good? A defective main board or power supply can cause this problem.

Akai lct3701ad tv will not come on

I would suspect a power supply problem in the set---voltages there would confirm or remove it as the possible answer.

If you find puffed up caps on that board you have found your problem--it is the place to begin.

KDF 50E2000 WONT POWER UP POWER LITE BLINKS RED 3 TIMES THANKS

Hi,

The Standby/Power light of the TV blinks when there is any internal malfunction in the TV.
The self-diagnostic function of the projection TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the television detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue. As per the two examples below, some of the issues may be resolved without the need for service.
If the STANDBY light flashes three times in sequence, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.
If the STANDBY light flashes four times in sequence, the TV may be overheating. To resolve this issue, ensure that the back of the TV is well ventilated.

If the flash sequence is not listed above or the light continues to flash, follow the steps below to perform a power reset:
Try the following steps to check if the issue can be resolved.
Turn off the television.
Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.

If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.

If the issue continues to occur, service may be required.

I have a new LG 32 LD450 TV. When the set is on, there is a green light in lower right. when set is off there is a red light in lower right. should this red light be there all the time, even when set if...

The red light means it's on standby mode but if you wish to turn off the red light you can just go to menu >option>power then choose standby light off.

Stuck in standby

Sorry about that. When the tv goes bad like not turning on, the green light will blink, and goes right back to red standby light while the dtv letters will briefly show on the lower right of the tv screen, then go back to blank screen. The tv will need to be taken to an authorized service center for repair. Common causes are a bad inverter/power supply, power control board, or circuit board.

Akai LCD TV wont turn on

Hello davidshu,

The issue seems to be a power supply problem. The television has a switching power supply. This might be the problem. I would suggest getting it repaired at a television repair shop due to the possible complexity of the work that needs to be done.
