Recover VRO files

I was about to transfer my files to PC, but as I recorded one last scene, I got an error message about the movie function being disabled. I am now unable to read my recording on that one DVD-RW, neither on the handycam, nor on the PC. I tried to convert the 500MB VRO file with two different file conversion programs, but to no avail. Have I lost everything on this CD or is there a solution to this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

guys hope you all found the solution like me who had same issue. if you noticed, it says about the aspect ratio and that means the formated disc aspect ratio is not compatible with the aspect ratio your camera need. so re-formating the dvd with right aspect ratio solved the problem quickly and we have peace.

SOURCE: I get a message on the screen that says,

This message appears when mini dvd disc got some error in recording tracks, if its rewritable mini disc then format it as option is available in camera settings menu and if disc is once writable then use another disc as it can not be formatted.
Caution: Format will erase/ delete all files on dvd disc and refresh the dvd disc.

How do i play my dvd on a vista platform

I have the gx5020a camera, and found out that the VRO file is just MPEG2. So copy the VRO file onto your computer from your disc. Once its on your harddrive, you can right click on it and go to properties. Re-name your file from VRO to MPG, making sure that you still have the original VRO file in case you need it for other programs. Once I change it to MPG file name, I can use media player to play it and I have a DVD movie maker where i can edit and record to DVD.

Sony camcorder 'Movie recording disabled'

You need to finalize it in the camera, the one you used.

Then you should be able to access what little data if any on it.

If you can not get it to finalize then take both the camera and disk to a photo shop. They may be able to recover it for you.

Let us know the results. Good luck
