Hitachi 53fdx20b rear projection color tv with no picture

Replace Both of the STK ICs they will have Part Number on them,example STK392-570
Mats Electronics has ICs 1-800-628-1118

problem will be either Bad resistors ,in front of the Convergence ICs or ICs and resistors need to be replaced. ICs are big black ICs and will have part number on them STK392-110 use 120s or 150s

If you have a Hitachi projection set there are three crt's red ,green and blue respectively . They are mounted three across behind the lenticular and fresnel screens.

Yes - You will need to either remove the circuit board or lift up the tray. If you are not sure how to do it yourself read the link below.

• This is a very common failure on Projection TV sets.

• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.

one of the tubes is going or gone out. i think its the blue one but cant tell you for sure which one it is

check the transformer...it carries power to everything

I purchased mine from Circuit city back in spring of 2002 as a display model that they were no longer selling. So I would assume 2001 which would be almost 8 years old. Excellent tv!

I would start 1st by checking all resistors ie.
RK43 2.2 ohm - 2W
RK47 1.5 ohm - 2W
RK51 2.2 ohm - 2W
RK55 1.5 ohm - 2W
RK59 2.2 ohm - 2W
RK63 1.5 ohm - 2W
If I were you I would also replace the convergence chips. From the above thread it's clear that they are of different quality so they may last different lengths of time (B&D is a good place to buy good quality ones).

my hitachi projection big screen tv 57SWX20B has a draping affect across top of screen why?

take your tv to a tech and have them check your tv the color module could be the problem or the the convergence module.good luck.
