I do not have an option to boot from USB

My USB has Windows 7 on it and I would like to install it on my PC. But my BIOS does not have USB/external/storage device in it's boot list. Is there any way I can make USB recognized by my computer? Keep in mind that only device I can use to modify BIOS or anything is the USB. Additionally: PC does know that there's an USB device since in first screen there's a brief "1 USB mass storage device detected" And no, I can not install any software to add boot device to list since I can't start up my computer before it has an operation system.

Two suggestions:
1. Try F10 or F12 during boot. There might be a boot menu without going into BIOS. Mine is F10.
2. Update CMOS / BIOS.

You shouldnt need drivers unless its a Windows 98 PC. Right click my computer and select manage, when the box pops up select disk management. You should be able to see the drive and format it for use.

SOURCE: I have Installed Windows7 on

- Windows 7 BSODs are often due toheating issues inside your computer. If you are using a desktop computer thentry to install a better cooling fan. Or simply you may turn off your computerfor sometime and start computer again. - BSOD may also happen when there islow RAM installed on the system. Some programs need more memory space to runand adding RAM would give your computer much needed boost. - One of the most important aspectof operating system is its registry. If there is minor corruption in this partthen it may lead you to errors similar to Windows 7 Blue Screen. There are somereadily available registry cleaners on the market. You may choose reginout asits secured. As we cannot stress enough thatmanual modification of registry is dangerous as well as difficult but anymistake in its modification can cause some of your programs to stop running. It would be wise to select aregistry cleaner that also offers you a feature of PC optimization. Using its PC optimizer feature youcan even remove browser junk, system junk and also manage the start up items toincrease the boot speed of Windows 7 computer.

How do i install windows 7 using pen drive on Biostar G31 M7 TE mother board

not familiar with that particular board/bios. theres typically an option in the bios (usually F2 etc) for boot devices. you'll need your USB set as a bootable device.

You'll also need a bootable USB drive with the install image (cant just copy the contents of the disc over, it wont work) Heres the MS tool: Windows USB DVD Download Tool
tip

Windows 7,Linux and other OS install from USB Pen drive, Flash Drive

Wait till Installation Compleate.
after compleation. Click "reboot" to install to the same PC, or remove the Flash drive(Pen drive) and plug it to another PC or Laptop USB
and boot that System by USB Flash drive.
To do this Select the USB boot option from the BIOS. Or to boot from USB go through your Motherboard User Manual.

This method works on most of Machines with USB booting option.

thank you. Keep smiling. aaarwind

Windows will not start with a Toshiba external hard drive plugged into USB

Computer starts normally in windows with a windows that is installed on a hard disk on that copmuter. In other words - windows is installed on an internal hard disk of a computer A. If you get it out and put in a computer B it wont work.

To have the things work:
1. First should set in BIOS boot up options first boot device CD/DVD, second OTHER/USB/EXTERNAL, third HDD
2. Should boot up from a CD and install windows on an external hard disk (in your case your 3TB Toshiba external HD)
3. Set in BIOS boot up options first boot device OTHER/USB/EXTERNAL, second internal hard disk e.g. HDD0, HDD1

Acer v3-531 cant load and boot to windows 7 it was win 8 just restarts will not run. I have changed all the relevent bios setting and diabled all security in the bios and sett to legacy settings

At what stage is it failing to boot to Windows 7? Have you actually managed to boot off the installation CD/DVD or USB?

I suspect you haven't and that's the problem at a guess. You may need to disable "secure boot" in the BIOS. This prevent the system booting from other devices. Once disabled you should be able to boot from the installation DVD or USB. If you are using a DVD and have disable secure boot I would try installing from a USB drive. I have had this problem myself and the workaround was to install from USB.

If getting Windows 7 to install is not your problem, have tried starting the system in safe-mode?

"asus" laptop boot from bios

Hi.

If you are trying to install Windows 7 from the USB flash drive then you need to configure the drive so the system will see it as a boot drive, see link below for instructions on how to do this. If you have Windows 7 installed on the flash drive then the boot files may have become corrupt thus preventing you from booting into the operating system. Link for installing Win 7 from USB below >>>>>

Hello i m facing some problem i cant boot my windows through usb drive i will explain the process i have did to boot from usb drive. Before that i will give some information about my system please note...

Most of those Windows to USB applications are for creating an Windows USB installation, not actually installing an operational OS on the USB. Does that make sense?

You would have to run the setup and choose the drive to where to install the OS. This would mean you would have to do it from a CD/DVD disc or have two USB drives, but this may cause a conflict.

Ow to install Windows 7 again over administrator rights blocking everything?

Try booting up your laptop with the Windows 7 installation CD to install Windows 7 again.
If you cannot get the laptop to boot up with the Windows Cd then go into the BIOS setting and make the CD drive the first boot device and the hard drive the 2nd boot device.
