If you are Tech Savvy, A quick careful air blow inside from a Camera Type Air Can could clear any dust accumulation and cool the projector down somewhat.
There are many moving parts & sensitive items.
If you do attempt to clean it with a can of air
Be very careful or it could be an expensive item.
The Modern LCD or LED or Plasma Screens are fully digital computers & have no moving parts.
My next one will be an LED or OLED as the price of power is going up and any savings around the house are welcome.
Even my Light Bulbs are all LED Now
These TV's are so dependent on Mechanical items & Timing & High Power Lamps. Just Glad I don't own one.
Must be expensive to run of electricity.
Never really had that issue the one I worked on Operated normally for 20 minutes and then shut down completely. The fix for that is to get the OEM bulb instead of the replacement
This is a issue with the DMD board it is not using the colors properly. This part runs around $200 plus you might need to pay for installing.When a color wheel is bad you will have different symptoms. I hope this helps :)
If you tried a cheap bulb then that might be the problem as some of the bulb carrage may not be complete4lyto spec. I had one that was close but there was a gap between bulb and where it fits. I went with a bulb dealer that had I believe a 1 year warrante and I have had no problems. I had a 73838 tv set.
Sounds like a new lamp that is generic (not Mitsubishi) as the set does not know which lamp is in the set--works with one and not the other you have found your problem.
