Polti Steam Generator heating up but no steam coming out?

Polti have many models. All question need 'make model (what it is)' as the first 3 words in every question. Otherwise it is a but of a guess.

If it is getting hot, then it should be producing steam. There can only be on reason and that is that something is blocked with limescale. Has it ever been descaled?

https://www.fixya.com/support/r26134544-cleaning_laundry_iron

If it the type that has a hot flat iron and a hose to a steam generator tank, then it is possible that the element has failed. It is worth descaling that unit as well just in case there is a blockage down there. Add the descaling solution and turn it on for 5 minutes. Turn it off, leave 5 minutes and give it a shake every 5 minutes for 30 minutes. The descaling solution will only remove scale from places the solution touches.,

Steam mop not putting out steam although it is heating up

Well, if you have heat and there is water in it then this is one of two things. The delivery hose is clogged either too or from the heating unit or the heating coil is not getting hot enough. Look for dripping water that is not turning to steam while it is running. That would eliminate the clogged problem. Then you could look at the heating temperature at that point.

I have like a rust colored dirt coming from the radiator and radiator hoses. I've replaced the radiator, thermostat, coolant temperature sensor and water pump. I have no heat. Car registers hot but no...

Have you backflushed the heater core? Check to see if both heater hoses are getting hot and if not flush it if possible. NOTE: most modern cars run hot water through the core at all times, but direct the inlet air through the core to supply heat by use of flapper doors usually operated by vacuum actuated devices. Vacuum leak, bad check valve to vacuum reservior, or bad actuator can prevent any heat.

Can i connect hotpolnt aquatic to hot water thanks

if there is only one hose, this is for cold feed only. the machine heats up the water internally.
if you connect it to the hot, all that will happen is your clothes will come out steaming hot, possibly shrunk and ruined

Easy steam express ll not steaming

The problem with the DD steam mop is not getting steam out but trying to get it to keep coming out. If U disassemble the plastic housing around the handle U will see a small part connected to 2 hoses, one going to the water reservoir the other going to the heating unit. This is the pump which provides water to the heating unit, and if this fails U won't get steam. U can try disassembling this and try to get the piston to move more freely. A loud clicking sound coming from this should indicate good movement and a feeble click click click may indicate restricted movement.
Hope this helps

The temp gauge reads correctly for a while then it starts going from cool to hot faster the water can change temp. I have changed the sensor

try the thermostat, located on the top radiator hose. top side of engine. also does it steam?? does it lose water but no leak, does the heat blow hot? if your heat isnt hot and it steams and loses water you may have a cracked head or head gasket. if you have heat, doesnt lose water and doesnt steam it may also be your water pump. most pumps will leak visibly from the weep hole when running

My 1990 subaru legacy was running fine-I went to the store less than a mile away and when I got home something was leaking from underneath the car and there was steam coming from under the hood..i don't...

Just because it was not hot to the touch, does not mean it is not a coolant loss problem----if the coolant is so low, there may not be enough to make the radiator hot (though usually the steam in the system will).
...a stuck thermostat can also let the engine overheat while the radiator remains cool (the fluid only circulates within the engine and is stopped from getting to the radiator.
...likewise a hose could have burst below and let the coolant out, over heating the engine, and the steam going out the ruptured/popped off hose; would look underneath..
...when cool, check the level in the radiator (likely empty),
...and less than a mile away, may not have ever heated the radiator, though usually only a mile to heat up the coolant
...of course there is always sabotage
...and water pump failure, (so no water circulated) causing overheating and no radiator heat, and possibly enough pressure to blow off a hose, but usually the radiator cap relief spring would allow pressure to escape (and that steam would heat up the radiator on the way---but if only steam in the radiator, it would cool off quickly after venting, because no more water in the radiator to hold the heat. all depending on climate, temp and further details , symptoms..
hope helps..
