Perform an "auto-detect" if you are using hdmi interface, try a new cable. other than that, contact samsung.

They keep saying signal is weak check your source connection what does that mean

The signal source is the antenna or the cable company's output and the source connection is everything between the source and the tv set.

Coaxial cables aren't immune from damage and can easily sustain damage and where exposed to weather, especially if not firmly fixed, the combination of sunlight and wind, freezing weather and wind can not only ruin an aerial downlead in just a few years but it can also collect rainwater and channel it straight into the aerial socket of a tv...

My aerial works on my old tv set, but when connected to my new philips flatv, it says i should check my aerial connections.

Hi Gabrial,
The old day TVs used to work even on weak signal. Modern day flat panel TVs need real good and strong signal to perform well. Please see that your TV antenna is in real good condition and properly oriented.

Emerson says weak signal

Check your aerial connections or outside antenna. The TV is telling you that it isn't getting a proper signal. If it was working fine before and just started happening, you may find the outside aerial has fallen over or broken or it may be just a cable that has come out.

Will not tune in channels on auto store

Well, there's your answer then. You have poor aerial signal so the TV cannot lock on when tuning. You need to sort out the reason why there's "Poor or No Signal" You need to fix the aerial, not the TV. I would have thought that was self-evident, surely?

What kind of aerial are you using. Do you know it works? Check out the aerial cables for breaks or badly fitted connector plugs.

Why does my tv show no signal

It likely has a weak tuner, made that way, not a product fault and will work with catv, devices and boosted signals. Other than that, check inputs on setup menu and see if there's an option to switch from cable to aerial as well as settings for a default channel setup that switches between clear signal and a set top box for scrambled channels.

Can't pick up channels itv, channel4/5 and itv2 on my bedroom freeview tv and down stairs doesn't pick up film4 and a few others?? I have only recently connected the bedroom aerial to the ariel which was...

hi when fitting an new aerial line you need to put a splitter in the line.
4963215_1-oo4k03phwtyaxld0gomgkgbv-2-0.jpg it looks like this. they say satellite/tv on them this will stop interference from the boosters and the tvs on the same line, you connect it on the main arial line. you can then use both boosters if signal is weak but most digital aerials are good enough without them. it you have the right arial for your area. there are meany sizes. but say you are 15 miles from your tower then use a small aerial has the same fitting as this pic. that is out side aerials, inside aerials ie in loft you need a high gain aerial , long type. hope this helps. also if the aerial is not lined up it will not get great signal there is an app you can use on iphone or androids, tables etc to help you position the aerial in the right place it's called Uk aerial alignment . tool on app shows you the towers in your area and the best ones to use and shows you the aliment to the tower for best results. good luck

Watch tv properly with JVC DVD off

Some philips tv's have a built in aerial amplifier, perhaps if you bought a digital aerial booster it will improve the picture quality.

Tv with built-in digital tuner not receiving any channels

Is your outdoor aerial a proper freeview aerial and are you in a strong or weak signal area. You can check here:http://www.stevelarkins.freeuk.com/freeview_digital_tv.htm
Also check your connections as the coax may be shorting with the braid or a bad connection.once checked try ordinary channels on upstairs tv and if ok retune all your digital channels.
This can be due to a few problems.Firstly make sure your aerial is pointing in the right direction as beam aerials attenuate(disregard) signals which are not pointing directly at the aerial.
make sure you are using good quality 75ohm cable i.e rg6 and connections are good and not shorting out.
The length of run of the cable will also affect the signal as will any splitters or joins in the cable.
If you know the signal is good in your area then it will be down to the aerial, cable terminations ,aerial position or a combination of these.
If the signal is poor you can either...Buy a high db gain arial which will amplify the signal and or a masthead preamp which will again boost the signal.
please note that if your aerial is not pointing in the correct direction then any boosting of a bad signal i.e ghosting...will only make it worse.
try starting from aerial direction then connections then a high gain aerial and or booster.

I cannot get any TV channels on my Sony TV

It sounds like you have identified the the correct problem, as the Coax connector has probably been knocked loose from the circuit board inside the TV. If you have any knowledge on this sort of thing you can take it apart and re solder the connections. If not I suggest you take it to be serviced by a professional.

Can't heat radio

Hi There Laura,
For you to get radio reception then you will need an aerial...
The FM stations are very weak and thus need a good long aerial to collect these weak signals.
Some receivers need the aerial to be a "loop" so and on the rear of the receiver there will be a special two port aerial connector for the FM..
You dont say where you are but if you are in the "outback' then a good long aerial will be needed...

The same can be said for the AM radio signals these are much lower in frequency but still need an aerial.
There is a difference with the AM signals as they also need a good earth as follows.
On the back of the receiver there will be an aerial connector marked AM and it will show an earth connector and and aerial connector.

There needs to be a good earth connected to the earth connection and another long wire connected to the aerial connector.
The earth should be a metal spike about 500mm long driven into the soil outside in the garden
and connected to a wire which comes inside thru the window to the earth connector on the rear of the receiver.
The aerial wire must not be connected to earth at all, but insulated.....
this wire connects to the AM connector out thru the window and up to the nearest high point. Like a tree or a pole...NOT A POWER POLE as that dangerous.

When you connect to the tree use a piece of plastic rope or something to insulate the wire from what ever it touches, as the radio signals are not allowed to come in contact withthe earth until they get inside the receiver...
You can use a wire with a plastic cover on it if you like..
You may wish to ask your neighbour if you can look at his aerial connections and learn how its done...

He wont mind.... unless you are "outback" and the nearest neighbour is 100miles away..
That makes it more difficult.

If you get stuck ask here again and I'll pass on more detail for you..

Cheers for now
From YUBEUT..
