Hello, sounds like you have a faulty lid switch . The lid switch is located behind the tub in the right rear, the front panel and the washer top panel have to be removed to gain access to the switch assembly. good luck

Just curious, if my washer won't fill but the spin cycle still works, does that rule out the lid switch as the problem?

Hello,

No if doesnt rule out the lid switch yet in fact that very likely is the problem, the lid switch asm. is wired through a fuse that if lid switch is bad the fuse will blow and in addation to the fuse being wired to the lid switch,it too is wired to the water inlet valve and will not fill if the fuse on lid switch asm. is blown
I know this by replacing more lid switch/fuse assamblies in 30 year appliance repair career that i can remember. I dare say (by assumption) that the tech that came to diagnose your washer gave you the exact correct diagnosis

My washer will not fill with water or do any functions when i turn the dial

My Hoover 7700l ...on "fill" cycle, the water dribbles in. Takes hours to fill so we use buckets to reach the required level.

Tried: Swapping cold and hot water inlet hoses, making sure that dial is in "hot". This solved the problem for filling, BUT when "rinse cycle appoars, it's back to the dribble again.

any ideas?

My stacked Maytag front loader leaks out through the door when the fabric softener dispenser is being filled (2nd rinse cycle only). Any help?

The second rinse is when the softener cup is being flushed. Remove the dispenser and clean and inspect the housing to be sure no softener is gumming up the holes and blocking the water flow into the machine.

Maytag stacked washer/dryer fills with water, makes noise like it's working, but won't agitate, but at the end of it's cycle pumps out but won't spin either. Is this a belt problem? If so how hard is it to...

Definately sounds like the belt is off. Not too big of a problem for small hands mechanics. Usual problem lately with Maytag is the spindle pulley. For some reason they haven't been tightened properly and the pulley and belts are falling off. Pull it out from the wall remove the panel and see what you've got, really simple on the bottom end. Complicated stuff is up in the control panel. Make sure you get the pulleys lined up as close to level as you can or the belt will jump off on you during spin cycles. Good Luck!

Maytag Neptune Stacked unit door leaks

This can be caused by water collecting in the door to tub seal. Best repair would be to replace the door seal.

Maytag stacked washer/dryer Model LS7804

OK it may be one of 2 things. I would check the lid switch first. On some maytags the have a lid switch that if it is not working properly it will not let the washer fill. If it will not fill the washer will not wash because the pressure switch did not activate the timer to wash. If the switch checks good you might have a bad timer. If you open the control panel you will find a tech sheet with the wiring diagram. I would follow the fill cycle and check the components. You might also check the water valve to make sure its ok too. But its very rear that both the hot and cold would go at the same time. Good luck!
