There are two types of heating beds for cats: thermal beds and electric beds. Thermal beds use insulating material, which uses the body heat of the cat in order to warm up the bed. Electric beds use electricity in order to warm up the bed. This allows the bed to be warm at all time. This type of heating bed is most expensive. If you have a tight budget, you can get your cat a microwavable pad in order to provide it with warmth. The downside of these pads is that they provide heat for only 30 minutes to an hour.
You should invest in a heated cat bed/mat. They are also great for older cats or cats
with arthritis. I will send you some
links where you can purchase one online.
This can be a tricky one.
Everyone I know has a different solution on how to get a cat to use
their own bed; from using catnip to lure them there to taking one of their
shirts and placing it in the bed for scent purposes and familiarity. I will send you a video that you may find
useful in training your cat to use its own bed.
Good luck!
