Puma 80 potterton hot water on and off

Hi, I have recently moved into a flat with central heating and hot water from a Potterton Puma 80. I have troubles with the hot water. When turning on the hot water tap the boiler fires off and I get hot water but only after quite a long time and it only lasts for a couple of seconds and then it gets cold again so I have to turn off the tap and try again. Sometimes the hot water then stays, sometimes not. The CORGI stated that remedial works are required "Boiler compartment does not have ventilation". Can that affect the functionality of the boiler? Any advise appreciated!

Boiler compartment ventilation will not stop you getting hot water . Its sounds like you have problems with a sensor or the water section on the boiler .

SOURCE: when you turn on hot water tap the boiler fires up

To avoid having a flame in the absence of water flow, the device you mentioned, 'diaphragm,' detects if adequate water is flowing to avoid a dangerous condition. Check on the housing of it for an adjustment screw; it may have a dot of sealant on it since these normally can be adjusted. It sounds as if it is misjudging the quantity of water flowing through and causing the annoying cycling.

I have a Potterton Combi Puma 80e When I use the shower the pressure seems to drop and shower goes cold! except when the central heating is on shower works fine

Does the red status led in the centre of the control board come on when hot water is drawn? You need to remove ONLY the front decorative cover to see the control board, two fixing screws at the base of it. If not the boiler won't fire when the CH is off.
The trigger for this is a pressure switch, replacement of which is beyond DIY scope.

Plenty of hot water but no heating Potterton Suprima 50

most likely the radiators need to be bled, there will be a screw at the opposite side of the radiator to the inlet get a small dish and place it under the screw undo the screw a little untill the air escapes and water runs freely from it
if that does not work trace the lines back and see if there are any bleed valves on the lines these may need to be bled as well this can be time consuming
