I have been told that while recording the camera flashes "video failure" and asks if you want to save what you are recording. After saying yes you have to turn it off and restart it. I have never seen this, it has not done it to me but it happens every time when someone else uses it. This is very annoying as I have people filming our Opry shows and I can't get the whole show on video. I film our church service and also filmed a hour and a half Jazz program for the school and not once did I have this problem. I sure need someone to help me!
SOURCE: Problems with film playback
try to clean the video head using a blank new tape.....just forward or rewind it until the head been clean cause using a head cleaner is damaging the head, the cleaner is so rough that why i cannot recommend of using that...if it still the problem is like rainy picture...the problem is the head it need to be replace but if the cost is to high you think you better buy a new camera....
SOURCE: I have pictures but no sound
since you didn't turn on the sound during the coverage there is no way you can have sound because you have disable the sound but if you did not reduce the sound totaly that is you can hear sound but not too high i will surgest you take it to studio so they can edit it but you let them know that you turn off the sound when you do the coverage so they will let you know if remedy can be done to it.

Try this. Create a new video (make it a short one) and use the software to save it to a file. It should use the same settings/folder options as it did for the videos you lost. See what that tells you, you may be able to find them that way.
There is a way to get video off of a DVD but you have to have a video capture program/card. There are many fine ones you can purchase. Thanks for coming to FixYa. Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.
