Replaced all control boards and still does not work
Ok i copied and pasted this...but its good info...
F70 = Overheating sensed causing dryer stop until temperature reaches(drops) below set level - determined by manufacturer
Can be caused by different contributing factors;
1. poor airflow
2. blocked air flow screen inside tumbler
3. clogged lint screen
4. slow tumbler (low revolutions)
NOTE;
Ironically, the fourth factor has been lurking behind the popular discussions on this problem that has exhibited itself on both the whirlpool and Kenmore products with the main triage to have included inspection of the electrical connections made by the installer.
These electrical connections not followed properly with accordance to '4prong' NEMA 14-30R (30amp, 2-phase circuit outlet) with separate ground and neutral posts, as exhibited in the standard dryer installation manual, will cause your tumbler to run slow. Hence, the 4th factor which caused the 'F70' code stops the dryer from operating.
Now, you have corrected the wiring as necessary and eagerly place some stuff's in there and all seems well. But as soon as you place something large and wet (HEAVY/BUNDLE), you get the error code again, you thought you had it!
Okay, this is what you need to do;
1. make sure your air flow is adequate by really cleaning the duct (I stuck my hand through the wall duct and scraped off old hard lint that can collect humidity & even cut my finger). Also make sure your vent hose does not have any unnecessary elbows or squiggles in it ( I had an elbow/pan type and it is not good as the heat seems to reflect too much ). KEEP IT AS SHORT AS POSSIBLE - I KNOW IT'S HARD, BUT IT IS NECESSARY.
2. Refrain from using too many softener sheets as they can & will restrict the air flow screen inside the tumbler.
3. Make sure your lint screen is clean - wash it periodically as lint particles collect moisture and this in turn raised humidity.
4. Once you have verified your electrical connections as stated earlier in this posting, run a normal cycle with towels or something of the like so as to reset the sensors in the dryer.
.
THE MAIN THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT 'F70' SEEMS TO BE THERE TO PROTECT AGAINST OVERHEATING WHICH IN TURN CAN TURN TO A FIRE HAZARD!
The tech sheet kindly provided by a member on another forum shows F70 as a control board issue as noted in this thread.
So what did I do so far:
Opened the top and back panel and thoroughly cleaned the lint. I did not however ,think that the lint was excessive as to cause motor malfunction. I also unhooked the dryer from exhaust and ran three loads and they all dreed without the error. Now it is possible that removal of lint did the trick but it looks like the venting issue as suggested in one of the replies has some credence. next I will hook the dryer back to wall exhaust and run a few loads. if the error returns I will focus on venting.
The main question that I am asking myself is that if the control boards are at the heat of issue would it possible to do any loads without the error. Your comments and suggestions are very welcome.
I hope all this works ends up in a running dryer and helps other people struggling with the same problem.

SOURCE: What is the code F70? Kenmore Elite HE5 dryer
The F70 and F71 error codes on this model of washer indicates a communication problem between the user interface control board and the central control unit (main control board). These error codes can sometimes be caused by a power surge or glitch through the electrical lines. Try unplugging the washer to completely disconnect electrical power. Wait 1 minute and then plug the washer back in to the see if the fault code clears. If it does, then the washer may work normally.
If the code reappears, then you could have a wire harness connection problem, a failed user interface control board or a failed central control unit. I recommend calling a service technician to properly diagnose and repair this type of problem so that the correct component can be replaced.
Be sure your unit is plugged into a 3 prong grounded outlet as well.
F71 is a "heatbeat failure" which means that your front interface control board is shorted and will need to be replaced. it's actually fairly easy to replace and can definitely be done by yourself. To access the part, just pull the unit forward and remove the 3 screws coming in from the back of the top panel. Remove the top panel by pulling it back, up, and off. Then remove all the screws going into the top of the control panel. Remove the dispenser drawer and remove the screws coming in through the dispenser. Remove the screws coming from the inside of the dryer going forward into the control panel, then remove the control panel (it's just clipped in on the bottom. After that you can disconnect the wire harnesses to the front interface control board and replace that part.

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite dryer is showing F70 message code.
The "F70" fault code indicates a lack of communication between the machine control board and the console assembly. This type of failure code may require voltage tests using a volt ohm meter if you are not able to locate any loose wire connections. NOTE: I do not recommend checking voltages unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer. I added instructions in the image below on how to access and what to test and the wiring diagram. I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dryer if you are not able to diagnose the failure yourself using the information I added below.
The overheating has nothing to do with the error code. The overheating could be caused from not cleaning the lint filter, restricted vent system, heater relay sticking closed or a loose connection in the thermistor circuit. I will not be able to provide any part numbers without knowing the specific model number of your HE5 dryer. You can look up part numbers at Sears Parts Direct by entering your model number in the model number field.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I've never heard of an F70 I have heard of an F07 which is possibly a motor controller error.
SOURCE: What does the code f70 on a kenmore elite dryer
F70 is a "communications error" message and the first thing to check is loose wire connections.
If a loose connection is not found, the controller board will probably need to be replaced.
Please report back here what you find, OK?
