Sanyo CE32L D81-B from plug in i only get blue stand bye light, when pressing a button light goes off, no picture or sound just dead, no blue screen etc..... had a peek with back off (quite capable) and no burn marks or loose plugs etc, just wondered where to start etc, no history of the set but no damage marks and unsure how old it is, its a set i have inherited with an empty house my friend moved into

Yes your inverter is bad, I have the same problem my set is about 1 and 1/4 years old. Because Olevia makes a terrible product there inverters are attached directly on to the panel, which means they will only sell the inverter along with the panel i.e $700+ to replace + $100 dollars labor if u don't know how to fix it ur self. I am currently searching to find the manufacture that makes the inverters because olevia will not disclose that information. I believe it is darfon, if so the inverter should cost about $150-200 depending. If you dont believe you can fix it ur self ur best bet is try and sell the set for scrap take ur $100 or so dollar and buy a quality product! Oh and dont call there support they will tell 10 different things before u find out this long for seen truth!

Ok Fellas I found the Problem!
The Problem is the V4 Y-Main Board. This board is located on the left side of the case looking upright from the back. I spoke with may suppliers, and Sanyo all confirming this. Apparently it has been an issue for some time. Sanyo has replaced the V4 Y Main board with a W1 Y main board in newer models. The W1 Board is NOT compatible for us tho. Just to be sure... If your T.V is taken apart (like mine) Disconnect the peripheral cable from the V4 Y Main, and turn on the set. I bet it will power up with audio and channel function just NO picture. When you plug the board back in... POOF set shuts down. Replacement boards are VERY hard to come by. So Happy Hunting!
