I deleted a contact from my address book, but their name and phone number still appears in my recent text messaging contact list when I send a new text message. Can you please tell me how to delete their name on the recent text message contact list?

you must be typing the name of the recipient instead of selecting them from the Contacts. You may type but as the name appears from Contact list, do select that.

Thats one of the features of LG. If you find it annoting or disturbing, you can delete it with the following steps:
1. In NEW MESSAGE, press the RECIPIENT. You will go to the number screen. 2. Tap the bar with "To(1)" 3. Tap the OPTION ICON. (Can be found on the upper left of the scree. it looks like a square with horizontal lines) 4. A sub menu will appear after tapping the option icon. Choose RECENTLY USED. 5. You will be the proceed to a screen with recently used number. Tap again the OPTION ICON 6. Then choose DELETE ALL.

when you add address it should ask you where from. say contact list (for this you must have email addresses of contacts in the phone book, then only will it work). Select as many as you want. If you do not have emai adds in the phone book then I am afraid you will have to write them seperated by comma. then send.

It should be as simple as adding their name and number to the address book on the phone.

Make sure to list the number under the Mobile Phone line.

While in the address book, there is usually a line that says "New Entry" or "Add number" etc...(without the type of phone I cant get specific).

Another method is to into the text message itself and do an options click (again without the phone cant be specific) and there should be an option to add the number to the address book.

Click on messaging icon from main menu.
Click send message.
Instead of clicking text message click on pic/video message.
then you have 4 options TO: CONTACTS , TO Mobile#, To Email, And finally To Recent lict. Click on recent list and checkmark all the numbers you want deleted then click options bottom right corner then click delete.....

I actually just sent all three of mine a blank text, but when I went back to the "send to" list voila! MORE INFO: I tried all kinds of things to remove names from my top three recipients list. What ended up working was to send a text to multiple recipients at once. Two was enough. But it was important who I selected first. I sent a message to my wife and my friend. My wife's name got added back to my top three! Then I reversed and sent a message to my friend and to my wife. His name got added back!

Go to the messaging menu choose send message then go to Voice SMS or Picture Mail, okay then choose Recent List there you should see the recent contact you have texted to select the ones you want to delete and press options there you can delete the selected or delete all.

just text a few different people until the contact is no longer a "recent" conacts, i thinks its like the last so many contacts in the list, i'd check mine but my screens just broke

How to delete recent contacts list on your Tocco

This tut is an "At your own risk" jobie so no moaning if you screw up your phone!

Step #1: First of all you'll need to download JavaInstall from: http://azev76.free.fr/U700/JavaInstall.rar
Step #2: Un-RAR SAMSUNG_Composite_USB_Driver_4_34_WHQL.zip and run Setup.exe
Step #3: Now run TkFileExplorer_2.2.exe
Step #4: From the menu pick Setting -> COM and pick the USB port that your Tocco is connected to. Click on the 'Connect' button.
Step #5: Browse to /Phone/User/Msg where you will find RecentLog.log
Step #6: Delete this file and you will have a empty recent contact list!
or
Step #6a: Copy to your PC and open with note pad. You will see the number or name followed by a number. The second number is how many times you have text the proceeding name or number.
Step #6b: Edit this how you wish and save it.
Step #6c: Copy back to your Tocco!

Hope this is of help for all of you who don't want to reset your phone every time you want to clear the recent contact list!
