Sounds like 1 of 3. Blower motor capacitor, relay or thermostat. Try to run fan only if that is an option and see.

SOURCE: Duo Therm compressor tries to start and kicks out

I don't think these little units have a start capacitor but what I would do is check that the on/off switch wires to make sure they aren't loose. Also check the wires to the compressor for loose wires as well. It is possible that these are the first signs that the compressor is about to fail. They also can act up some when they haven't been used for awhile and then you try and start them up. Try running the unit for a few hours without asking it to cycle. It might just be a sticky valve.

SOURCE: duo-therm quick cool

Your compressor is trying to restart after it shuts off which is causing a power draw down changing the sound of the fan speed change. Check voltage power supply and insure that the power supply cord is heavy enough to carry the necessary load.

Domestic duo therm gets 20volts everywhere I checked. I have yet to check the switch on top of the compressor. Neither fan nor compressor turn on or make noise. Get 120 at breakers.

If you don't have 120 volts at the power connections at the unit, you have an open fuse or wire someplace between the breaker and the unit.

Duo therm brisk air ,does not blow cold air fan works but when condenser trys to turn on it draws 76 amps please help

You don't say what size unit you have. Does it draw 76 amps and then go to about 10 or 12 and you can hear the compressor running or does it draw 76 amps and the breaker trips. I suspect it draws 76 amps until the breaker trips. Confirm that the capacitor is niether shorted nor open. It may be worth your time to replace the capacitor, if you have one of the correct size available. If this does not get your unit running, it sounds like you are drawing Locked Rotor Amps, which means your compressor has physically siezed. There are a couple other posibilities, but looks like its time for a professional.
