Hi

F4 Error indicates a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hi, replace the oven temperature sensor if "F2," "F3" or "F4" is displayed. "F2" indicates the oven temperature is too hot and the oven temperature sensor is suspect. "F3" or "F4" indicates the oven temperature sensor or shorted or open.

The error meaning depends on the oven brand.

On Amana and other brands F1 is a faulty control pad or faulty electronic control.
That may be your case , since the electronic control looks being jammed.

Try tripping the circuit breaker for two minutes (or disconnect power cord). If that does not help, then call the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual.

Note: on other brands F1 indicates incorrect temperature , and is associated with a faulty temperature sensor. This normally does not cause the electronic control beeping and not responding.

I had this same problem last night.. I have been having problems with the oven shutting off on preheat.. That sort of stopped. Last night lost power to the house. When it returned the oven was beeping and flashing PBR. I turned off the breaker for a few mins. last night and it returned. It was bugging me so much that turned it off the whole night. Woke up this morning turned the breaker back on and it stopped. I don't think this is the total solution. I am thinking that eventually I am going to have to replace power board in this oven. Hope it works!

you could have a bad touch pad or ECU which is the main control board.

Replace the oven temperature sensor. It is located in the back wall of the oven. 4-6 inches long,up high on the right or left side depending on model. Most can be changed from inside the oven rather than through the back.

Hi~ According to the manual for this oven, the F2 code signifies - high oven temperature. The only suggestion for any of the codes in the manual is to disconnect the electrical supply. It says" pressing OVEN CANCEL pad or disconnecting electrical supply may eliminate "F code". If failure continues, contact an authorized servicer.

f4 means it has a shorted oven temp. sensor and will need to be replaced.
