Fan stopped working in JVM1533BD microwave

The microwave still cooks food. The lights & turntable work. Everything is fine except for the fan. The fan doesn't work when i am microwaving something or when i just want the fan to vent steam from the stove. I dont dare to use it until i get the fan fixed. Thank you for any help, Adam Bruce

I assume you're talking about the hood fan which ventilates the cook top and blows air through the grille across the top. If so, it's okay to use the microwave with that not working, but if you boil something on the stove, an external fan is definitely needed to keep mositure from going up into the microwave controls. If the cooling fan INSIDE the microwave (behind the keypad) is not working, then you do NOT want to run it unit it is fixed. Cooking doesnt start
Microwave?

Generic advice follows.

Do you open the door while the machine is cooking? Do it a lot? For a long time (months)? Check your door safety interlock switches. The microswitches can not stand that type of abuse. I have personal knowledge on this. I try not to open the door until it stops, but it is hard usually to do that!!!

Lights, fan,etc work but turntable does not rotate and oven does not cook.
Sounds like the table motor may have an issue. You might want to consult you local repair depot for an estimate. Sometimes the repairs are more than the appliance...beware!

Have GE JVM2050 over the range microwave, which stopped heating food and water since this morning. All other functions including light, key pad, clock, turntable work normal. The magnetron sound also
if everything works except the heating, it is most likely the mag tube is on its way out.........that is the most common reason for it not too cook.......since the microwave is a GE and it is 3.5 years old, i would say you are better off buying a new microwave, the mag tube starts at around $70.00 and up + the labor it costs too have a service person put it in........around another $60.00

Clock works, timer works-but turntable and other functions stoppe
you have a bad control board . this board had 2 relays one for the magntron and one for the turntable and the cooling fan together . when the turntable goes out so does the cooling fanm and the microwave overheats ...... there is no good fix for this , the control will cost more than a new microwave . please do not use with this happening . i have see them start on fire when it overheats . please be carefull good luck

The fact that the microwave and convection both do not heat indicated that the oven is in demo mode, check the user manual, otherwise it will possibly be a relay not triggering, may need a pcb replacement, check Demo mode 1st....Phil

Quite often this is due to a bad door switch. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP pad) is the primary cause of door switch failure, but it may also be a broken switch mount. Microwave won't heat food.
My Whirlpool microwave, over the stove, stopped working when my son used it to heat his food and a heavy sound came out, like something exploded in it. When I check it, there was nothing broke. Everything works fine except that it does not heat. I will appreciate any help
