Skype IM box sending and receiving issue

there is a box you can tick that says show my contacts tham im off line
open skype go to tools options scroll to audio settings or video settings from the drop down list you should see this option box

When you send/receive an instant message and no message appears, you probably have scripting disabled in your Internet Explorer.To enable scripting:

1. Click the "Tools" menu on your Internet Explorer toolbar and select "Internet Options."
2. Click the "Security" tab.
3. Click the Internet (globe) icon and click the "Custom Level" button.
4. Scroll down to "Scripting."
5. Enable the following:
   • Active scripting
   • Allow paste operations via script
   • Scripting of Java applets are all enabled
6. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window.

Note: Restart Yahoo! Messenger and you should start seeing text in your IM windows again.

Open Messenger and click Messenger on the toolbar, scroll to Preferences, click, scroll to Messages, click.

In the second box, Pressing Enter in a message window, fill in the box next to "Sends the message".

Click Apply, then OK and immediately reboot your computer. When you reopen and go to your Messenger, Enter will now be sending your messages.

1.You possibly have scripting disabled in Internet Explorer.
To Enable your Scripting:
Click Tools, >>Click Internet Options, >>Click Security tab, Click Custom Level.

now, Scroll down to
Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting - √check it to Enable
Scroll to Scripting - Active Scripting - √Check Enable
Click Apply then Click OK
CLick OK again.
now, REstart your Internet Explorer.

The problem is probably with the support software that drives Messenger - this is not downloaded with Yahoo Messenger but installed on your computer. Check your IE settings first

Uninstall it and install it over again (and download the latest version while you are at it) ...the application sounds like it has become corrupt. And I am assuming you are using the stand alone program, and not the one that runs in your browser, right?

The problem is you probably had a program running when you uninstalled Messenger and its uninstalled some of the support software - This is stand alone software and not included in the Messenger download - Hence, a re-install failed to resolve it.

Clean up your browser first - download ccleaner and run it through include "registry" from left hand toolbar - do not feel nervous about deleting so many files.

You can check what software you have loaded by using revo. Although its an uninstall tool it has a very good opening page which shows you just what software is on your computer

After updating your software use revo to make sure you do not have 2 versions of the same program installed and creating conflicts. For example, if you have Flashplayer9 and Flashplayer10 installed - uninstall Flash9
