Casio Exilim s500 lost cd

My new computer won't recognize my sd card and I've lost the cd and my usb recharging hub. I searched for drivers, but all I could find were driver updates and they didn't work.

    I looked on that site and couldn't find what I needed.

    My laptop has an SD slot on it, and when I put the card in it, I don't get any autoplay reaction and when I go under my computer to select the card it just asks me if I want to format it.

    Can you please describe in more detail what you are doing and what happens when your "new computer won't recognize your SD card"? Does your computer or printer have an SD card reader slot?

Look at the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Yes to the first and why bother to the second.
You can charge the battery outside the camera using a BC-10L charger or equivalent. One such charger is available here.


The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.


Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Make sure your camer can support the new sdhc cards. The cameras that are made after 2007 are made for the new stick.

I have lost instilation disc to install my caera
Connect your camera to your computer and your computer should recognize it and install the drivers. Doing it this way, you won't have access to some of the photo editing functions, etc, that are on the disk; however, they are easy to come by with a google search, and even without them you will be able to upload & view your pics.

Casio EX-S500 camera
What is the operating system you are using. Windows XP, 2000 and Me do not require drivers, but anything before this, like Windows 98, requires drivers. Install them from the CD.

See the pages of the manual between 180 and 186 for instructions and troubleshooting steps.
