I have a kenmore dishwasher that is 18 years old not sure of the model my wife tells me that the door seems heavier than before I am thinking a spring has let go if so how do you change the spring or fix it

It seems most likely door latch stock and you going to need buy new door latch as for stock one most likely you hsve to forceit to open and replace it with new one

try liffting the front legs of your dishwasher a bit so it angles more to the back and check your spray arms make sure they haven't cracked on the seem

Gina, you probably blew a thermal fuse that sits on the control board. Easy fix. Have your husband first check the wiring to the dishwasher. Remove the toe panel and make sure the wire nut connections are good. If that is ok, he will have to remove the inner door screws to get to the control board. Lift out the inner door. Remove the control board cover, it just snaps off. He will see the thermal fuse on the upper right side. I will attach a photo of what it looks like...Catriver...post back
