How to reset to factory settings like the day it came out of the factory?

Sometimes laptops are supplied with CD/DVD discs which perform this task when inserted in the CD/DVDROM drive and rebooted. If you don't have these then the closest you can get to a full factory system reset is by using the Windows System Restore feature. When you run this obviously choose the earliest system restore point. The third way will require you to obtain a windows operating system disk for your licensed OS, plus you will have to download the motherboard drivers from the laptop manufacturer website, installing these after running the OS disk from boot. Good Luck.

Router name was reset without my asking. i need to set it back.

how was the name reset and by who??????
if you mean you have to reset your router to the factory default settings
(note all settings will be lost you will need to reconfigure the router)
you will need to reset the device to factory defaults. However, once the device is reset to factory defaults, depending on your router) to reconfigure your router settings or if there is a small hole in the front or back of the router push a hair pin in to reset to factory settings

I have an WNR1000 and I have lost the password but have the disk. How do I reinstall?

On the back of the router there is a very small button something you would need to use a paperclip or other small object to push push and hold that button for a few seconds that will restore the factory default settings to the router. then admin should be the user id and leave the password blank to get into the router settings

How can i do a factory setting without paying. i need a christmas blessing and how can i obtain a factory setting disk no one wants to help me.

I need more information, what is the make and model of the router?
You do not need a disk to reset the router to the factory default.
Most routers have a RESET button on the back of the router, it might be a pin hole Reset button, press the reset button until all the LED lights flash, then release the reset button. The router should now be back to the factory defaults.

HOW TO RESET BACK TO FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS FOR CWA-854

You need to login to the router and go to the save/reload settings section.

You can reset this Wireless Access Point back to its default settings by clicking on Reset button, and then press OK button to confirm your decision. Note: you can also hold down the reset button on this Wireless Access Point’s panel for more than 10 seconds to reset its default settings back to factory default.

Acer Aspire 3620-factory settings

Acer's ship with the factory recovery built into the system. As long as this has not been deleted you should be able to do it.

Click and Start - > All programs

and look for Acer Empowering Technology

Inside that folder there should be a few different programs (dont' have my acer here so i can't remember the names exactly). One of them will allow you to reset from the harddrive and another one will allow you to make your own recovery disks. I would do this first as that way you have a disk that you can put away in the closet in case your harddrive ever dies and needs to be replaced. If that is the case you NEED the disks as the new harddrive would not be setup to do it for you.

Press reset button on back of unit AFTER system has fully booted (time will be displayed) and your system will be back to default values - password = applianceadmin.

You can also re-image the drive to factory defaults.
