What is a compatible replacement for a m2n78-la motherboard

This motherboard's full name is ASUS M2N78-LA and also used from HP/Compaq with the name: Viola-GL8E. A good replacement solution for this board is Zotac GF8200-C-E GeForce 8200-ITX WiFi AM2 DDR2-1066 (about 130$). Here are some links for this board: from Nvidia for specs and from Amazon. Take care that the original board is micro ATX factor and the suggested one is ATX factor, so you may have to check the available space in the tower.

Need audio

Hi,

The SR1820NX is powered by a 2.2GHz Athlon 64 3400+ CPU. The Asus A8N-LA Nagami motherboard features the integrated GeForce video and eight-channel audio.
The Asus A8N-LA Onboard audio or audio card :
  • Built-in Azalia 8 channel audio
  • Realtek ALC883 8-channel High Definition Audio CODEC
So you want the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver R2.11, which has support for ALC883. You can find it here:

and the Vista one is here:
