You should look into getting a bowl with rubber feet on the
bottom. Here is one that we use, I
highly recommend it. http://www.overstock.com/Pet-Supplies/Rubber-Bottom-52-oz-Dog-Bowls-Set-of-2/3905926/product.html
I bought my dog a bowl with a rubber ring
around the bottom a bit like this one http://www.petstore.com/Loving_Pets_Corp._Silver_Bullet_Stainless_Steel_Dish_Dog_Bowls_Stands-Loving_Pets_Corp.-PE07262-DGBFBS-vi.html. This not only solves the problem of
the noise and scratches it also prevented my dog from being able to move it very
far.
You should pick the elevated dog bowl for cleaner feeding area. You clean the surface of the feeder table rather than the floor. In addition, the elevated dog bowl can minimize the behavior of dogs that like to splash in their water bowls.
