Base won't charge handset

Our handset went dead, it appears that when seating the handset in the base, the charging light will not go on. If you move the handset around slightly, we have seen the charging light flicker, but not stay on. We have cleaned the base and the handset, but we still cannot get a charge. I tried a new battery and the handset will work with another charged battery.

E4 - Erros My uniden phone model TRU 9485 - 4WX after outage power, now on LCD screen appear E4 and it didn't respond to any button when i press. I read some help which they say press 3 button...

Hello
Connect the phone line and power UP the base unit. Place the handset on base to get charged. It must reset automatically when you place the handset on base to charge. If not; resetting both handset and base unit is necessary.
Resetting the Handset

You may need to reset your handset in the following instances:

You lose a handset and purchase a new one. When you try and register to your existing base you get registration

failure.

You are unable to register any handsets to the base.

You had a base which needed to be exchanged by the manufacturer. When you register your existing handsets

to the base, the handsets say #3 and #4, but you only have 2 handsets.

When you are instructed to by the one of the manufacturer's call center representatives.

To reset, do the following:

Press and hold [ ] and [#] for more than 5 seconds. Select DEREGISTER HS.

WHICH HANDSET? appears. Select the handset that you want to de-register, and press the OK soft key.

DEREGISTER HS appears. Select YES, and press the OK soft key.

ARE YOU SURE? appears. Select YES, and press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone. The

handset will clear its registration information from the base, and then delete its own base information.

MODELS VARY! PLACE HANDSET ON THE BASE FOR REGISTRATION OR REFER TO OWNER'S MANUAL. To

re-register the handset to the base (see page 25).

If the handset cannot contact the base, it will display OUT OF RANGE. Make sure the handset is in range of the

base and the base is connected to power.

Note: It is also possible to reset the handset back to its original factory settings. All changes including Caller ID information

will be erased. For more information on resetting the handset back to factory settings and when you need to

do this, see www.uniden.com or call our Customer Service Hotline. See back cover page for contact information.

Resetting the Handset without the Base

If your original base is not available for some reason (for example, it is lost or somehow incapacitated), you can still

reset the handset and use it with another base.

Press and hold [ ] and [#] for more than 5 seconds.

Move the cursor to select BASE UNAVAILABLE and then press the OK soft key.

BASE UNAVAILABLE appears.

Move the cursor to select YES, and then press the OK soft key. ARE YOU SURE?

appears.

Move the cursor to select YES, and then press the OK soft key. You will hear a confirmation tone. The handset

will delete its own base information without trying to contact the base. When the base information is deleted,

the handset displays MODELS VARY! PLACE HANDSET ON THE BASE FOR REGISTRATION OR REFER
TO OWNER'S MANUAL. Register the handset to the new base (see page 25). of its user manaul.
OK.

My Uniden 1560-3 has out of range on all handsets but one. I only have a dial tone on one handset. Please advise how I can correct this problem

Reset the hand sets that are out of range by doing the following:

1) Press and hold END and # for at least five seconds.
2) Move the cursor to select Base Unavailable and then press Menu/Select.
3) Select the base which you want to de-register from, and then press Menu/Select. Base Unavailable appears.
4) Move the cursor to select Yes, and then press Menu/Select. You hear a confirmation tone,

(For DCX150 handsets)
5) Place the handset in the base cradle for about thirty seconds. Handset Registering will appear in the LCD.
6) When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration complete then show the handset
ID number.
If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.

(For DCX200 or DCX300 handsets)
5)Disconnect the base AC adapter. Then press and hold find while you reconnect the adapter. Keep holding
find until the charge LED starts to blink.
6)When charged, registered handsets display a handset ID number. Handsets that have not been registered display:

ID number.

Cant register/install a new dect 6.0 uniden 2060 phone

I had a similar problem which I finally fixed. You did not say if any of your phones registered.
First try the following recommended by Uniden Support:
Your phone(s) should be fully charged before putting them on the main base.
Unplug the battery from the phone by removing the battery cover and removing the connector. Then, push the # and * key together and hold while you plug the battery back in (requires some dexterity). Continue to hold the two keys until you hear a confirmation tone. This will force the phone to reregister. Put the phone on the main base (if you are sure it has a fully charged battery) and see if it will reregister it to solve the problem.
That did not work for me. So, I followed the instructions to de-register the handset (even though it hadn't really registered). But, I also pretended like the Base was not available (because using the base in this step also failed).
1) Press and hold the hang up and # keys for at least 5 seconds.
2) Move the cursor to select Base Unavailable and then press Select.
3) Select the base you want to deregister from, press Select and then move the cursor to Yes and select.
This causes the phone to delete any of its base information.
At this point, again insure that your phone shows the battery is fully charged and if it is not, put it on the stand alone charger base (not the main base). With the battery fully charged, place it on the base and try registering again by placing it in the main base.
If neither of these approaches help, contact support at Uniden.com.
However, my problems were cleared when I cleared the handset with the second set of instructions.

Second set does not work

I had this problem - just found the solution. The two charging stands aren't the same. One is a base (that plugs into the wall) and the other a charging cradle. I think that each handset needs to be placed in the base to "register" it.

So, here's what I did: place the unregistered handset in the base & both should work.

ELBT595 Handset Not Turning On

Check the handset battery -- if there is a slight "bulge" on one side (ie: not COMPLETELY flat) then the problem is with the battery. I had that problem and had to order a new one. That said, I just installed the new battery, and while it now charges, the handset won't connect to the base unit. The base unit works (tried the speakerphone), but there is not connection between base and handset.

OUT OF SERVICE MESSAGE

Hi J,

Apparently that one from Ebay looks nice but has issues (not uncommon). If you took it out of the box, charged it fully and its has garbled audio, then the handset or the base is defective, or both, but at least at this point you can get a handset to "communicate" with the base and the "in/use light turns on, when you try to access a line, correct? . If you get the "out of service" message when trying to "move" the "ebay" handset to the other base, it sounds as if the base station and handsets are "coded" and were married together at the factory and one handset won't interchange with anothers base. However, try this before you go the repair service route, or roll the dice with another fine product off EBay :). Unplug and power down both bases, the one from Ebay and your old one. Take the Ebay handset and set it in the charging cradle of your old base. Power up and wait three minutes. Plug dial tone in and give it a try. If it still says "no service" , and won't light the "in/use" light when you try to use it then it won't work with your base, or/and your old handset you lost is somewhere near and is still communicating with its base. Now if you lost your handset weeks ago, then the odds that it is still alive are pretty slim. But I have heard handsets in the warehouse beep for days til their battery dies. You can google cordess telephone repair for service. Good Luck. CG

UNIDEN 5.8 GHZ CORDLESS PHONES

Registering Handsets to the Base
Whichever handset you choose to charge in the base is automatically
registered to the base. Any additional handsets must also be registered to
the base before you can use them.
Be sure both handsets are fully charged.
One at a time, place each handset in the base. The charge/in use LED on
the base begins to flash, indicating the base is registering the handset.
Wait for at least five seconds, then pick up the handset and press
[talk/flash]. If the display shows TALK, the handset is registered. If not,
place the handset in the base to try again.
Press [end] and continue with the next handset.
Note:
Once both handsets are registered, it doesn’t matter which
handset is placed in the base or the charger.
When you charge the handsets, Caller
ID summary screen and the name of
the handset appears.
