SOURCE: new ram memory on dell dimension celeron trying to

You should check with the folks at Dell since whoever wrote their technical manuals for this machine can't do basic math. There are 2 memory slots and each can handle a maximum capacity of 512MB, yet they claim the maximum capacity for the machine is 2GB instead of 1GB. Using 512MB modules would probably work.

I am having PIV 1.7 ghz HIS mother board PC with 96 mb RAM. Can I upgrade the RAM & upto how many MB, I can upgrade the RAM.

I don't think 96MB is correct. Right click My Computer > Properties will tell you how much RAM you have.

Unless you have a 64bit system, the max is usually 4GB.

Dell xps one a2010 wont boot up after windows 7 upgrade

You can just reload the program and Windows at one point will ask if you want to repair or re-install. You may need to reload the original program 1st, then load Windows 7 for the upgrade to work.

Upgrades read the computer to identify what was previously loaded to qualify the new program. So if it's a Vista to Win7, if Vista wasn't loaded first on the upgrade if you replaced the hard drive in some cases, it doesn't always take properly.

Good luck!

I've got a stupid question. If my memory or RAM is

If you replaced the faulty ram with the same name brand and/or same specs. you should not need to reinstall anything unless the old ram corrupted the OS file system, or the files in those programs. Now sometimes when you replace faulty parts with newer ones or i should say upgraded parts,(like faster ram or cpu),some of microsoft OS's will make you reinstall the whole OS and then your programs, because it will blue screen when trying to boot into the OS,But there are ways around that too.If you need a fix to repair install just let me know what os your using.

I have a eMachines T3646 Motherboard MCP61SM2MA-RS2H and I wanted to upgrade the Ram on it. I was told that this type of ram was compatible ( Crucial 1GB 240-Pin 128x64 DDR2 PC2-6400 CL6 ) I stuck two of...

Not sure exactly as to why you can run the one, and not the other, but I am familiar with 'speed compatibility' issues, especially with Crucial RAM (which is still good memory, BTW)... I looked up your computer's memory specs on this site, and they're in the biz of selling, but pretty reliable as they are independent. Check out where it shows the speed at PC2-5300--any time you want to upgrade, you try and match the upper limits of that particular characteristic, so maybe it'll run one Crucial stick at '6400', but not two, since--even though most RAM packages 'say' they're 'backwardly compatible, speed-wise', many of the better brands sell RAM that, when installed in pairs, run at their upper speeds, or 'a certain speed', we'll say... So--again, this is easy--try a pair running at the slower speed. The best news is, if you bought the Crucial RAM new (as I suspect you did), most retailers will return your money on hardware purchases within 30 days afterward.

Hp 530 laptop is very slow and freezes

Well, The problem can be caused by many many reasons such as outdated hardware, overload startup programs, corrupt registry issues, too many junks, virus attack, poor security software taking too much system resources, remnants of uninstalled applications etc. The fact is, you should keep some system maintenance job regularly. If you don't want to do these manually, try the hp speed up tool http://www.speeduphp.com/ to give a free & full scan of your slow HP PC to find & fix all possible issues.

Meanwhile, upgrading hardware configuration (add RAM, change a new video card, larger-volume HDD etc) can be a fast yet effective way to improve your pc performance. But that won't be the most economical way, as you know you can't always afford to do that.

Excelling computer memory (RAM)

If you really wanna increase the RAM level acceptance you have to upgrade *********** board. You can force more than 512mb RAM with your current system. You can use Vista in which you can connect external USB drives which can act as RAM (but only in Vista).
As of now, you can put more than 512mb RAM in your system.
