I opened the DataWedge v3.3 on the device, then started the process, but the status says: Idle and underneath it says "Capture device not available" Did anyone have this issue?
In DataWedge check: advanced configuration -> Profiles -> Your profile (Profile0 for default) -> Capturemode. If this setting is in "only to empty input field" mode, the device will only work on empty input field. Set it to "Always" to enable the scanner again. (Menu could be slightly different as i was using DataWedge 3.5)

You could install "DataWedge", there you can configure the functionality of the laser.
By "lock" I hope you mean "Always on" in which case you can configure that:
1. Install DataWedge on the device (If not done so already)
2. Open DataWedge on the device (Control Panel)
3. Select "Advanced Config"
4. Profiles
5. Profile 0
6. Input
7. Scanner
8. Select your scan engine, in my case "Blok buster"
9. Reader Params
10. Aim Type
11. Select "Continuous Read".
12. Exit

1) open "run" from the start menu, and run "services.msc".
2)find "Apple Mobile Device".
3)In the "status" column it will tell you if the process is started or
not, and the "startup type" column will tell you if the process will
start automatically when windows starts. Set
the status to "started" and the startup type to "automatic".
4)To do this right click on this process, and then click on "Properties"
5) In the "general" tab find the "startup type" drop-down arrow menu and

Yes, it is possible to connect your Sony CCD-TRV46E camcorder to a computer. In order to do so, you will need a few things:
A video capture device: This device converts the analog video signal from your camcorder into a digital format that your computer can understand. There are several types of video capture devices available, such as USB capture devices, FireWire capture devices, and HDMI capture devices.
A cable to connect the camcorder to the video capture device: The cable you need will depend on the type of video capture device you choose. For example, if you choose a USB capture device, you will need a USB cable. If you choose a FireWire capture device, you will need a FireWire cable.
Software to control the capture process: There are many software options available that can be used to control the capture process, such as VLC, Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premiere, etc.
It seems that you have a cable that connects the camera to the power supply, and another one that is not supposed to connect to anything. To connect your Sony CCD-TRV46E to a computer you will need a specific cable called AV cable (Audio Video cable) that has a yellow plug for video, white and red for audio and a small round plug for power.
Please double check the user manual for your camera and make sure that it supports the transfer of video to a computer before you buy the AV cable or the video capture device.
The link works for me DataWedge provides a convenient mechanism for non-scanning aware
applications to receive data from embedded or connected data
capture devices. It allows the user to capture data into any
application that accepts keyboard input. It supports four types of
Data Feeds: Barcode Scanners, RFID Tag Readers, MSR Readers and
Serial Data Input. It provides user with text/hex data formatting
and prefix/suffix facilities.
Description
New Test and Log Display.
Improved DataWedge Startup Time for MSR and RFID
Gen2 RFID Support
Device enable/disable persistence over cold boot
Virtual Key Support in Prefix/Suffix
Performance improvements for MSR
Enable Serial Interface on startup
Support added for Event based Serial reading.
Delays regarding RFID are fixed.
Several Barcode character mapping issues fixed.
make sure some security software is not blocking your access
The camera and scanner on the MC55xx share the same interrupt. While Datawedge 3.x is running, it has control of both devices and causes the behavior you're seeing. If you stop Datawedge before starting up the camera app (for example), it'll work just fine.
Why Motorola thought interrupt sharing for two commonly used hardware devices is a good idea, I'll never know.
open widows moviemaker and click on "Capture from Video Device". You should see the video device in available devices. Video capture wizard starts and just follow instructions from there..
Sony got back to me with the answer, so I will post it here for future reference. If there is no audio when USB streaming with PIXELA ImageMixer version 1.5 software on the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, change the USB capture device setting for sound to USB Audio Device. In the Image Mixer Tool settings, confirm the USB Capture Device settings are set for an available USB Audio Device. This setting is not defaulted to the USB streaming mode.
This would be the icon of an open end wrench in the top right hand corner of the capture environment screen.
Follow this procedure to change the USB capture device setting for sound in the Pixela ImageMixer 1.5 software.
1. In the ImageMixer window, click the USB Device Capture icon.
2. Click the Preferences icon.
3. In the Capturing/Recording Preferences window, in the USB Capture Device Setting section, click the down arrow to select the desired sound device.
4. Click the OK button.
