Fire Mondel # PLEB30T9FC

My top oven caught on fire. It is no longer working. It will turn on, but not heat up. It had no reason for the fire. The element bake 3400W, 8 pass is out. I'm not sure if that is the only part needing to be replaced. Has anyone else had this problem. It is only 13 months old.

Our GE JKP14 Oven's Burner Element caught on fire. A small bit of it. Turning the oven off did nothing, but once we turned off the circuit breaker the fire instantly went out.

call in an electrician as turning off the switch should have stopped the fire
There may be a problem in the way it is wired up.

Should my broiler turn on when I am preheating my oven this does not seem right to me and my oven caught on fire last night

Hi,
Yes the broiler will often turn on to help preheat the oven.
If it caught fire, it is not because of that, but because you have too much run over food in the oven. That is what caught fire. You need to clean it an NOT with the self clean!!

Model GBS307PDQ5: Oven preheated to 425 degrees.

F3 usually means, that the oven temp. sensor is bad and one need to replace it.
The fact, that it's not heating tells me, the fuse in the back also needs to be replaced (requires pulling out).
