Dear Experts, =D
I was just given a Zenith [model #SY2569X] without the remote. I bought a 4 function RCA Universal remote for it [# SRU3004WM/17]. I managed to auto program the tv channels. While I am able to play VHS on channel 03 on the tv, I cannot find a channel that will allow my Phillips [#DVP3960/37] dvd player to be viewed.
The dvd player instructions say to press the '0' on the remote and then press the channel down button until I see a screen that displays the dvd player background and then program it. But that screen doesn't show up on any particular channel. My old tv let me play it on an AUX channel and the vcr played on channel 03 and the rest was local tv stations. We don't have cable tv nor dish tv...just rabbit ears...no HD converter box yet, either. (the defective one I bought needs exchanging)
It would be great if you can tell me how to set up a channel for this Zenith tv and Phillips dvd player.
Thanks for your time in this matter.

Open main menu and select manual program. In this option check skip on/off option is there. Otherwise select autoprogram the channels are automatically stored, after completing autoprogram TV displays program edit option. In that you can choose your needs.
SOURCE: I am stuck on channel 2
some tv's default to channel 2 after being unplugged.since it is a older tv ,the buttons on the remote and the tv maybe worn down.on the tv itself try pushing the buttons down a liitle harder. if you have aux or line in/video inputs, scroll down on the channel button to log into a aux channel for the dvd player.as for the remote try buying a cheap universal remote to see if that works.
good luck
