Does this happen repeatedly or just sometimes? check the one way vale and the line its attached too on top of the fuel tank then make sure theres no water in the fuel filter, if there is water in the filter it should be visible and kind of look like a bottle of salad dressing or oil and vinegar before its been shaking up.

SOURCE: 1997 yamaha waverunner 3

My 97 gp760 did this. I checked almost everything. Replace or clean your plugs, then run carb cleaner through your fuel filter both ways, and then spray carb cleaner into the fuel line from the fuel filter to the carbs. Run 10 minutes, more carb cleaner into the fuel line, and run it 15 more minutes. Then zip tie fuel lines at the fuel filter. I figure there was trash or buildup in the carb. Its easier than rebuilding the carb. Try it. Daniel at the MEXPIPE Pto Escondido Oaxaca.

SOURCE: Waverunner bogs down on acceleration

Our 1996 waverunner has been running great until this weekend. It seems to bog down after 3 minutes of running at full speed. If you keep it at 3/4 speed no problem, it runs steady. Tried carb cleaner but it still runs the same....What repairs are we looking at. thanks.....

1995 Yamaha Waverunner III dies won't run

Check cylinder compressions, this ski will overheat if one side is low. Thus is step one, if ok and within 10% of each other, verify the exhaust isn't clogged with sand from "beaching" third verify the crank seals are not leaning the Mix causing an overheat. Obviously check the impeller housing to exhaust line isnt clogged, disconnecting the thermal sensor is asking for a top end rebuild which is about 500.00 they are designed to reduce revs and alternate spark to the cylinders once 200 degrees is reached.

My 1997 buick century has trouble exceeding 25 mph

Sounds like it could be the fuel filter. Typically when they get clogged the car will run but can't get enough gas during hard acceleration (it sputters) or can't go too fast ( it just dies out and then picks up again ) . You can try replacing it ( follow the gas line from the tank to find it ), they're not expensive, just be careful when you take it off, the gas can squirt all over.

How do you convert a 1997 760 Yamaha Waverunner from fresh water to salt water

There is nothing to convert. After running it in salt water, you need to flush the engine out either on a garden hose or by running it in a fresh water lake or river prior to storing. Salt water is very corrosive and you need to flush your engine just as soon as possible after removing it from salt water. DO NOT let it sit overnight, it will start corroding internally and doing damage.
