Hello, The fridge door on our Zanussi Fridge/freezer has just stopped sticking altogether. I have cleaned the seal, and taken all the food out of the door and it still does not stick any longer - can you suggest a reason for this? The door is not damaged in any way and still sticks right etc. Thank-you for any suggestions.
The fridge door stays shut only by strip magnets inside the door seal. cause is possibly that the hinges are out of line or the cabinet distorted. try levelling the fridge and tilt slightly backwards
Fridges should be placed level, not tilted. You can hold a small, light piece of iron against the seal to see if it stays put (meaning the seal is still magnetic). If not, it has become demagnetized. The vibrations of slamming the refrigerator door may induce the magnetic dipoles to randomize and thus lose magnetization. Heating or an electric current may also be the cause.
