IP4300 lines uneven

My IP4300 canon printer prints half of the line one direction and the other half of the line the other direction. They don't match up. It is not every line, just random lines. On pictures it has one block one direction and the next block the other direction. I have aligned it both automatically and manually multiple times. I have cleaned the print heads also. Canon tech support said it might be the encoder. Is this something I can fix on my own?

My ip4300 keeps printing the same page over and over again. There's nothing in the print Q, but no matter what new job I send to the printer it prints the same old page. Is there a way to reset the printer...

Have you rebooted your computer? The printer's memory is very limited -- certainly not enough to hold an entire page. Your computer feeds the printer a line at a time, so it would seem that your computer's print spooler is 'stuck' on that print job. Try shutting the computer down completely, then restarting and see if that print job clears out.

Prints a page and random lines have a line running across

I had a problem similar to this where it would print 7/16" horizontal band blank and then a 7/16" horizontal band correctly. This problem occured systematically when printing text.
Called Canon support after a great deal of searching around on the web and they shipped me a new printhead. Problem solved.
If your printer is anywhere near a year or less old call them up and explain the problem. They were very helpful.

Lines on a photo when printed

The print quality usually depends on the program you're using to print them on your pc.
Your camera only ever sends photos to your printer, so the best settings are already selected by the camera and it's built-in photo program.
Your printer doesn't 'know' whether your printing a document or a photo, so the settings for each program on your computer are basic (known as default settings), and need to be changed by you to get the best from your printer
Find the settings that let you alter the printers options (in Word, it's FILE \ PRINT \ PROPERTIES), and make sure the printer output is set to maximum quality, and that photo paper is selected as the paper type.
Some options such as 'maximum quality' only appear when you've chosen 'photo paper', and some printers (such as the ip4300) have seperate options for gloss or matte paper, so go through all of them until you see what you need.

Hope that helps :)

IP 4300 Canon Printer printing horisontal gray lines

To solve this problema, proceed with LF correction procedure, which is well documented on Canon IP4300 simplified service manual (it can be found at Emule network). This procedure prints some patterns and the user has to choose the best among them. One of them will probably enough to compensate (or, at least, to minimize the problem to the point that naked eyes can't observe it) the line feeding error which causes dark horizontal lines along the printer lifetime (probably because of feed roller wearing).
