My Nordictrack X9i treadmill console says it is operating at speed, however the track is not moving. Occasionally the belt will move for just a moment then it stops.

My wife stepped on the treadmill and pressed start like normal. the console showed that it should be running at 1.0mph but the belt/track was not moving. The incline operates as normal and everything else appears to be fine except the track doesn't move. I unplugged the unit and thought it may reset, then pressing start the track moved briefly then stopped again. Console still shows that the track should be moving.

SOURCE: Nordictrack motor will not run when start button is pushed.

Likely the cover of one of the motor brushes popped off. Unplug the machine before you pop it back in place, then try it again.

If that doesn't work, most likely it's the motor control board, or possibly the console, or finally just a loose connection behind the console.

But most likely, it's the motor brush cover. I've been seeing that alot with this model.

HI, its seems like the belt on the motor has either slipped off, or you just need to tighten it. best way to find out is to take off the front pannel showing the motor. then stand on the treadmill. start it and you will see the problem.

Do you have the iFit component on your treadmill? We had a similar issue and I unplugged the iFit component (requires opening the console and unplugging the ribbon cable that attaches the iFit component) and the treadmill started working again.

I just bought a Nordic Track X9i incline trainer. Started working well, however after a few hours of use I cannot use any control keys and belt and incline does not work. The touch screen display works but...

You should immediately replace the console. That console will just keep getting worse. This is endemic of this brand, however it usually happens a lot further in the life of the unit. When you call Nordictrack have your model number.

Our EXP1000 treadmill is about 10 years old and we have not had any problems with it. The belt recently has been going slower than before. for Example, we used to walk at a speed rate of 4.5, now it...

If belt hasn't been replaced that's your poblem. If that's more than you want to put in a 10 year old treadmill, try lubricating it. That may bandaid the problem for a while. This will progressively get worse over time.

Nordic Track Ifit Treadmill has power but walking pad not working

If everything on the display console is working correctly then we know it is either a problem with the wires from the console to the controller or the controller itself. In most cases this means you need a new controller. To verify, take off the motor hood and find the green circuit board called the motor controller. With the power on go into manual mode and push the speed up button to a slow speed. If you see an LED light with "spd ctrl" next to it flickering but the belt still does not move then we know the problem is with the controller sending the signal to the walking belt, in which you should check the wires that go to the motor. If they are connected correctly then we know a new controller is in order. If you do not see a flickering light then it means the speed signal never got there and the problem will be with the wires going from the console to the controller. This is called an upright wire harness.
