How Do i Get it To be Quiet are atleast down its so loud it give me a Headache and it cant be cause computer hot because im right by window and i rarley use heat lol. Thanks
I had the same problem until my husband took the machine apart and we vacuumed the dust out and added RAM. Not sure which helped, the vacuuming or the RAM, but my computer has never been so quiet! I used to have to play music at night to drown out the incessant and un-patterned noise that came from my eMachine, but now it's as quiet as can be!
... this may be worth a try; it worked for my noisy emachine fan.
First open the box and vacuum out any dust on the fan. I also opened my power supply and did the same; there was quite a bit of dust, so you can imagine the heat never got the chance to be removed. Also, on my machine, underneath the CPU fan, there's a metal baffle; get the dust out of this as well ... same problem re. removing the heat. Last... and I'm not sure this matters or is true, but, for my fan, the power supply plug on the motherboard seemed to accept the plug oriented 180 degrees different from the way it was plugged in from the factory ... could this change the direction the fan blows? It certainly explains the bizarre build-up of dust in my CPU baffle. Once I did this, the fan goes up to 100 percent for about 3 seconds on boot, then it has never 'noised-up' like it used to! ... it's totally quiet now and the computer works great...
good luck
I did the same thing. Removed the dust and no more noise.
Depending on if this is the CPU fan or the case fan you can check out a replacement fan at http://www.quietpcusa.com/
These fans are fairly easy to replace with minimal work and will normally be much quieter then the ones that come with a store bought computer.
