Why cant I get the bag to stay on?

I put in a new bag and went to use the vacuum but nothing goes in the bag. It goes behind the bag or infront of the bag. We have the bags that are used for this kind of vacuum. We have tried a different bag to help but nothing works.

SOURCE: Won't start.

There is a reset button at the back of the powerhead. The user manual can be downloaded from the electrolux website, although I didn't find it very useful. There was some info on how to change the powerhead drive belt.

SOURCE: vacuum shuts off

if you want to fix this problem gently pry up the air flow control knob and look down at the plastic hose connected below the control valve. insert a small screwdriver and push off the hose from the valve. this disconnects the bag full indicator but will let the vacuum operate normally at full vacuum. you will change the bag when suction gets low. this will save you at least $100 repair bill.

SOURCE: Electrolux Epic 6500SR Full Bag sensor working, Does not Reset properly

The problem was a sticking switch that was not being reset. The vacuum on/off switch mechanism is comprised of two switches. One is the main switch that turns the vacuum on and off. The second is a shut off switch that gets tripped when the full bag sensor is engaged. This second switch is supposed to get reset when you push the on/off switch on the outside of the machine. The full bag shutoff switch was stiff and it, therefore, was taking a couple of presses of the on/off switch to move the shutoff switch back into the running position.

SOURCE: my vacuum stops showing "bag full" even after I

This is most probably due to a worn out or clogged Control Valve Assembly.
Detach the hose and see if it runs. If it does, place hand over hole. If it shuts off, CVA is probably the cause. A clogged CVA is generally due to using generic/made-to-fit bags. Genuine bags have "Home Solutions" printed on them.
You can try turning the dial all the way to the large dot, then try to run the vacuum.
If it is the CVA, you'll need to take it to an authorized Aerus Electrolux store and have their service tech repair or replace the part. I recommend a service and clean of the vacuum at the same time. This will extend the life of the vacuum.

Testimonial: "Super reply! Thanks for specific info. I detached the hose and (dang it) had the same problem. The bags are genuine, so it looks like a dealer repair."

Took bag completely off and now I can't put it back together

Put the outer bag back on the unit. Make sure that you have pushed the outer bag down past a black lip. The piece that holds the inner and outer bag on the vacuum needs to be put on next. The small horseshoe shaped plastic piece goes on with hte open part down. Make sure that the docking station goes behind the lip I told you about. Next put the piece that the inner bag slides into on. This should have the bag back on the vacuum and ensure that it is on properly. If not, then it will pull of pretty easy and blow dirt into the outer bag...not the one that is meant to catch the dirt....I am a manager of an Oreck store.

The bag will not stay attached it comes off the rubber nozzle and dirt gets everywhere my old oreck had a much better design with the velcro closure.i am very dissapointed.

Please make sure that the plastic pieces that holds the outer/inner bags on the vacuum are attached properly. Push the outer (permanent) bag down against the vacuum. It will go over a black lip. Put first piece of the bag dock on..make sure it is behind that lip also. When you reattach the second piece to the dock, this will tighten the docking system. It will keep the outer bag on and keep the inner (disposable) bag in place so that it is catching the dirt...not the outer bag.

I have an XL Silver Upright Vacuum with a docking Station. Bag will not stay on and dirt & dust builds up inside the Vacuum. Big mess to clean out. Also vacuum is hard to push. Is it because BAG...

The docking station is not on properly...Make sure that you have the outer (permanent) bag pushed down over the lip of the vacuum. The docking system needs to be behind the lip also. This keeps both the inner and outer bag firmly attached. If it is hard to push, you may look into replacing the roller brush. They start breaking down..kinda like a toothbrush. It will make it extremely hard to push.

Bag light on saying, but new bag with nothing in it

There is either a restriction in the hose or else the air filter is dirty causing a pressure differential. Remove hose and inspect or push a broomstick through, also try putting a opened coat hanger through the inlet of the vacuum where the hose connects. If you remove air filter and it goes out, replace air filter.Hope this helps you

Vacuum shuts off, bag light on, runs fine without hose connected

I'm not sure if I understand your problem completely, but if it is your full bag indicator that is coming on, even with a new bag, it's probably your control valve. These can be replaced by your dealer. When working correctly, the control valve should trigger the off switch when the differential pressure gets too great between the front of the bag housing and the area behind the bag. When it goes bad, it will indicate that you need to change your bag, even when you don't. Good Luck!!

Lost suction - Hoover Wind Tunnel S3630

You have a clog. The "bag full" indicator is nothing but a vacuum gauge, and impeding the airflow will cause a false indication of a full bag.
Clear your hoses and the air pathways behind the brushroll, and you will be back in business.

Electrolux Canister - Renaissance model

Probably a clog, because the change bag light is nothing but an airflow sensor.

Check your hoses to ensure that there are no blockages, and also check inside the powerhead behind the brushroll.

Full bag system works properly, but doesn't reset easily

Either there is something wrong with your switch. Which it doesnt sound like it. Take it to your dealer or call another one it sounds like the control valve needs to be replaced. I am a dealer 1-866-966-9350.
