2009 Jeep Wranger Navigation Radio Touch Screen

Hi Teresa, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Teresa, sense I'm not sure if you have a "Touch Screen Radio" OR a "Regular Radio" I'll tell you how it's done on both style's.

FIRST THE TOUCH SCREEN: Simply touch the time. Example: let say it's 12:00 O'clock, simply touch the 12:00 and it will open the time set and adjust the time.

REGULAR RADIO: Touch and hold the "TIME" which is next to the disk opening that you slide your CD into. By holding the time it will cause the time to start flashing, while it's flashing simply turn the knob that says 'PUSH AUDIO / SELECT" this will adjust the HOURS, should you need to adjust minutes simply push the knob and it will switch to minutes for adjustment.

or check fuses.
is car battery charged to 12.6vdc rested???? or at below 11v.?
does car run and drive? perfectly,

in the shop, they checks fuse, and battery voltage.
then they scan the PCM for errors, if they have errors the fix
that first. like bad comms to u connect/nav, radio , ,etc.
then work up to the actual head. finally replacing it.

these are fancy , complex to the max , high end options.
and when they bust are expensive to fix. '

my guess is you have this system.?
AM/FM (1-CD/DVD/MP3), full map navigation (6.5" integrated touch screen display), 1-disc data drive,
integral satellite & input jacks (RER)

this means very special tools are needed to fix the unit
and access to special software updates in the unit.
go to the dealer an get just that.

Are you check fuses? and harnesses connections.

my 2007 mountain navigation system wont read the cd, but along with that my touch screen will only stay unable to read cd, I cant change any of my radio stations nor switch my medi system none of the buttons on steering wheel or radio work, my radio is on ,but one station,, does the cd needed for navation system run the media and radio

Look on ebay for an REC Joystick replacement. In the mean time you can hold down the middle button on the right side of the back of the steering wheel, where you can control the radio features. When you hold this button down, a little red wheel symbol appears on the navigation screen which means you can control the navigation system from the steering wheel controls. This works for simple tasks until you get the replacement joystick. They are about $30 and take about an hour to install.

yes you can have the dealer unlock the unit, they may charge for this, some do some don't

The same thing happens with my 2005 Jeep.

Do you still have warranty left? If so bring it into the dealer for service. Otherwise if you don't have any warranty left there is a software update the dealer can do that may fix it, if that doesn't fix it, a new radio is around 1900 dollars.
