The touch screen navigation and radio on my 2009 Jeep Wrangler is no longer working. The buttons on the side still function properly, but I can no longer use the "touch" feature of the touch screen. The dealership wanted to charge me over $2000 to replace it. Is there any place else I can go that specializes in this?
I have had several isssues with my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee radio for several months now. We first thought is was the selenoid then the battery, but finally realized that the radio will not turn off. The screen may not work, but internally it is still using power and draining the battery. So, when the batter is low, the screen and button on the radio stop working to save battery life. Apparently this is a constant problem and you need to have a circuit in the radio rebuilt and replaced. This will cost $900- 1K.
Look into a radio repair shop or just get a after market radio installed at a audio store best buy-etc

Do you still have warranty left? If so bring it into the dealer for service. Otherwise if you don't have any warranty left there is a software update the dealer can do that may fix it, if that doesn't fix it, a new radio is around 1900 dollars.

Why did you replace the lighter fuse in the first place - something may have shorted something out? when you put in the new fuse does it blow right away? make sure the fuse is the correct amp for that spot. also check all the fuses - sometimes there can be more than one fuse that controls many items such as radio, nav, and lights.to answer your questions though no it cant really be anything else than a short blowing a fuse. you just have to find which fuse it is and where the short could be.

You could take the car to a dealer(Ali Bhai Motors in Karachi) who has the software disc to reinstall. I had a some what similar problem when I was changing the battery and the screen died

I have the exact same problem. I was told by Lexus that there is no repair and the entire unit would need to be replaced for $2400 !!!!

I have the same problem a couple weeks ago the sirius radio would flip to a different station so now I have 3 Classic Rewinds, where It was the 80's and classic vinyl and the nav touch doesn't work, I don't have ANY $ I'm going to take my Jeep up to dealer, and of course we bought it so no longer under warranty for leasing hope it's just as easy as a reset to do, can listen to radio media and that took alot of time to download those cd's in there!
