It shouldn't make any difference what mode the TV is in when programming the remote control. After you replace the batteries, just reprogram the control with whatever code you used before. If you didn't make a note of the code, use the remote's code search feature. That only needs the TV to be on, so that it shuts off when you find the right code. Once the remote has the right code back in it, you'll be able to switch the TV out of video mode.
hi,
you cant.
your going to have to get a mid priced universal with extended features. read the packaging. thrift stores sometimes have a bag wall with old remotes so if you have someone who goes to the thrift store sometimes tell them to start looking for either a vcr or tv remote that says emerson on it for you. directv and dish network universals have video input buttons, if you have eith of those providers go to their website, download or find the chapter where it shows how to set up your viseo input. it is shut off by default..

Universal remote alway work only the basic for the tv.Beyond that will have problems or stuck in some input or modes.Sorry i can't help u, because i don't know what is the reaction to ur tv by the universal remote, must use the universal remote again tries all the buttons like video modes or input botton.Or take the battery out like 20 mins of the universal remote to erase ur tv codes enter it again.Tries those buttons u pushes before, see if u can get out the video mode. All else fail.Try website like Remotes.com to buy the tv original remote to use.
is there a TV/Video or menu button on the front of the tv? if so try the tv/video button, that should scroll through the the components you have on your tv. dvd, game cable etc. If no tv/video, hit the menu button and then use either channel up/down or volume up/down to scroll through your component options.
VICTORY! Had the same problem with my Orion model FTDV2004. Lost the remote and couldn't program a universal remote to change the input to AV. After a day of reading posts, I just started pushing the channel up button. Somewhere past channel 115 the "Line1" and "Line 2" inputs showed up.
I just bought this same TV at a yard sale today. There was no remote and it had the same problem. I used autoprogrtam feature of my cable remote to use the TV part of the that remote. With that remote I was then able to change video inputs and access all the menus properly.
Good luck,
Dan
You will need the original remote i'm afran to switch to the video mode. I have located an original replacement here:http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&smodel=STV2763&brand_pn=ORION_STV2763&mode=large&uid=11832633145460
There is a picture of the remote. You have to press TV/AV button on this remote to switch to the video mode. Good Luck
