your refrigerator can be repaired but you will have to have the entire evaporator replaced you can not just fix the crack in the aluminum you have to have a new evaporator soldered in. It will be fairly expensive to have a professional company do it, but not as much as replacing the refrigerator.
there is a foam that is made to seal the water coming from the evaporator area that warps and creates a gap to the refrigerator section. if you are 100 percent sure that its not the drain then this is your problem. the foam is located at your timer and thermostat assy. housing there is four screw to removed seal that gap with permagum
That sounds like a broken defrost heater or defrost heater thermostat. If you see front on the back service panel then that is a good indication the evaporator is plugged up like a chunk of ice. Unplug the ice box and let it thaw out. Do not take an ice pick to that evaporator! Let her thaw out naturally. It takes about 2 weeks foce to build up to a blocked state. I have photosThis is what a normal evaporator looks like This is abnormal
your evaporator coil in the rear area behind the freezer back panel is frozen over with ice and the coil can no longer deliver cold air due to ice blocking the air flow from the evaporator fan, remove this rear panel, defrost it with a hair dryer, check the defrost heating coil for continuity, they go bad regularly,if not the heater coil under the evaporator coil,it may be the defrost timer in the refrigerator section of the unit that powers the defrost coil that needs replacement
there is a damper door assy that allows the cold from the freezer to the refrigerator, this may be sticking from shipping foam or tape that has never been removed from shipping, the install team almost allways rush and never really install correctly no do they explain how to use and care for the appliance, so check these things. in addition there is a know issue of the refrigerant lines having a slight restriction in them thus causing a autable sound coming from the evaporator and capillary line, this is located in the frezzer and will sound like its coming from all over. call bake the service co. & have them remove & reinstall the evaporator.

Hi!! your drain line is plugged its inside your freezer compartment. look at the back wall on your freezer and fins you see is called evaporator try to remove the cover and get a hair dryer and melt all the ice that you see in the bottom portion of the evaporator..you should see a small hole at the bottom of the evaporator that your drain line unplugg it..Or you can do it the old fashion way just turn it of complete for 2 days and all is fine..Good luck..
hi thanks for the question its either the fan blade hitting ice or a bad fan motor remove the floor 4 screws lift from back to expose the evaporator you will see either ice hitting fan blade if this is the case thaw the ice dry the foam and re assemble thanks the appliance doc
I had the same problem .kept on defrosting every week for . months replaced the sensor assy DA32-00006B fridge has been working perfectly for the last 2 months stan
you have aclogged drain. remove the panel in the back of the freezer that exposes the evaporator you will want to shut the unit off too. next remove as much ice from the pan as possoble. use a hair dryer to help get the big stuff loose. now you will want very hot water and pour it in the drain pan. your going to make a mess at frist but you need to do it untill the ice in the drain is melted and the water will flow into the drip pan. make sure you cloan all the food drbris also. after it is clear put the back on and turn the unit back on. you will not get any more ice buildup as long as it stays unclogged. and the ice is from the defrosting of the evaporator.
