Belkin F5D8230-4 trouble setting up computer can't find it

Grandkids should see SSID on their computer if it is being broadcast by your modem ( you probably have modem/ router) if they don't see SSID , your modem may have broadcast SSID set to off. If they can see it, have them enter your password. Passwords are case sensative .

Try resetting the router.
To reset the Belkin back to the default settings -
Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router and then power for at least 15 secs. Then release the RESET button.
Connect a LAN cable from Belkin to your laptop/computer's LAN port, open a browser on your laptop/computer and enter the Belkin's configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default admin password.
You can now configure the wireless settings. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wireless settings. The encryption (password) code is configured in the router's wireless settings.

"Firmare." eg: Model# of the Belkin Router.

BLU RAY :: BELKIN



Step 1:Connect Modem - Router - Computer (Wired)

Step 2:Open Router Setup by typing http://192.168.2.1 on the address bar of internet explorer

Step 3:On the Left click firewall

Step 4:Leave the Password blank and click submit

Step 5:Disable it and click apply changes

Step 6:Scan and connect in the BLU RAY

Step 7: Get the IP Address of the BLU RAY

Step 8:Open Router Setup in the Computer

Step 9:On the left under Firewall Click DMZ

Step 10:Enable the IP Address of the BLU RAY in it

Step 11:Click Apply Changes

Step 13:On the left Under Utilities click System settings

Step 14:Scroll down to the bottom

Step 15:Enable UPnP

Step 16:Click apply changes

Step 17:Test the connection ,Check the NAT

If it is still not working

Open Router setup

At the middle Under internet settings check the WAN IP

IF it starts with 192.168. or 172.16 Then you will have to contact your internet service and ask them to bridge the modem

Make sure DHCP is turned OFF. START>>RUN>>services.msc enter. Scroll down to DHCP, and set to OFF & Disable. Also if there is Zero Configuration, service disable that too. Make sure there is a good clear path between the Antenna and computer.

To setup the router you will need to log in to your router's control panel. This certainly won't be as simple as on the installer disc, yet it is still do-able. You might also want to contact Belkin's free technical support hot line. They can help you set it up with the method I described above.
