Tv built-in dvd player wont play thru surround sound

My built-dvd player wont play thru my surround sound system. I've tried connecting component cables from tv to receiver. Also I tried connecting regular av cables from receiver to tv. I used the dtv and dvd slots on the receiver to connect using av cables. Am I missing something.

Thanks

I cant get the tv to go through the surround sound i can only get the surround sound to play when its a dvd playing do i need another wire to go from the dvd player or will it not work no matter what plz...

If you've got the Audio Input Source set as TV-Audio and it won't play as Surround Sound then you'll need to connect the Audio Out from your TV (if it has one?) to the Audio AUX IN on your LH-T360SE and change the Audio Input Source to AUX.

UMC 19in TV with built-in DVD player - model L19/7TCD

Try connecting earphones or headphones to the 3.5mm Headphone socket on the TV and check this works correctly, i.e hear TV when watching TV, hear DVD when watching a DVD etc.
If all is OK, purchase a 3.5mm Jack to L/R Audio/Phono cable. Connect the 3.5mm jack in to the headphone socket on the TV and connect the red/white phone ends to the 5.1 surround system.
It should solve it. SCART out is not always live in all sources so is not a reliable way to connect.

Toshiba TV/VCR/DVD combo MW24F12

You did not say if you have connected the video out on the surround system to the video in on the tv. If not connect it and select that input on the tv.

No Picture from Component Input #1 or #2 but do have audio via Surrond Sound

Simplest thing would be that your component cables are not HU'd correctly. Having them reversed would do this.

Component Video Connection

what you have done is you are sending a component video signal from your system to your tv and the sound i assume comes through the 5.1 surrond speakers. The DVD's you play the sound would naturally come from the 5.1 surround speakers, unless your instruct the dvd player to send the sound to the tv in which case will only be played as stereo. you will need inputs on your dav system to take sound from your tv outputs or digital box by way of red and white phono leads or a digital/optical input if you have them; so as to play the sound from cable tv or sattelite tv through your 5.1 surround speakers.
