Yes, I know what it is. On the base of the blender jar (the plastic base) there are some "fingers" that must contact the base to allow operation to take place. Turn it upside down and look at the little plastic "fingers" around the outside periphery of the plastic base.

These fingers tend to break over time... mine only has two left right now, and it only works in one particular position as a result.

Rotate the blender jar one spot at a time until you are able to operate it "normally". I use it for margaritas, and it won't allow me to push the button for Frozen Drink unless the jar is in the right position.

I am going to try and find a replacement base (or entire blender jar) somewhere... or else I will finally have to retire my favorite blender of all time!

A more in-depth but permanent solution to this problem is to hard-wire the circuit control this 'safety' switch. It is only there to make sure that the carafe is mounted completely on the blender base. If you can't master that idea without the aid of a safety switch, you probably shouldn't be trusted around blenders anyway. ;)

If you are interested in fixing this problem for good and don't mind a little dis assembly, then it isn't hard to move ahead. You'll need a Philips and flat-head screwdriver, a pair of wire cutters/strippers (scissors could do in a pinch since the wires are quite small).

Unplug the base unit and flip it over. Use a small flat-head screwdriver to click the tabs holding on the grey sub-base onto the white base. Then several philips screws will be exposed, undo those and loosen the base from the motor and control boards.

There will be three wires running to the safety switch at the back of the blender. In my blender, the wires were red, white and black. The red wire was for the switch on the left, the one that usually gets depressed when the little white 'foot' on the carafe is mounted correctly. The white is common or power. I haven't figured out the black switch. After some experimentation, I found that cutting the red and white wires, stripping them back, and twisting them together with a wire nut solved the problem completely for me. I would recommend leaving the black wire untouched.

Once you have done your minor wiring work, you can use a piece of electrical tape to hold the bundle of wires up to the side, or just tuck the wires around other wires, or plastic mounts, just to keep them away from the motor housing. Then you can reassemble the blender base, and it should work flawlessly... even if all of the ridiculously flimsy little white feet have broken off your carafe.
There is an easy fix. Usa a piece of aluminum foil and put on the rotating post before you put the glass jar with rotating knife.
Some parts must be rusty and they don't make a requred contact.

Where can I get a replacement fuse for my Oster precise blend 12?

Hello, Frances -

Your question landed in the Fixya.com category of Furniture. I re-categorized your question to the Oster Blenders category.

I found the following information regarding Oster blender built in fuses:
(Quote)
The built in fuse protection has kicked in. To turn the blender back on, first turn the control knob to "Off" and unplug the unit from the wall. Then remove the jar from the base and free the blade of any obstructions. Next, press the external resettable fuse button on the bottom of the base. Wait 30-45 minutes for the unit to cool.

Question: My blender shut off during use. What happened?

If you try that possible solution and the blender still does not start, then . . .this is the link to the Oster Contact Us page:
https://www.oster.com/customerservicecontact?cid=contactus

At the very bottom of the page you will find toll free Customer Service phone numbers.

Or . . .

Fill in the form there, asking about the availability of a replacement fuse for your model of Oster blender, so that you can send an email message.

Best wishes.

No power light on the Oster 6700

Get it touch with a local Oster repair guy. Likely he can solve your problem, over the phone. You may need to take it to them.

New Oster Blender won't power on (used twice).

If it is new you should look into warranty repair.

My blender leaks at the base of the carafe

A couple of things you can check.
Unscrew the glass jar from the bottom.
Check to see if the grey seal is between the metal blade assembly and the glass jar. I had this issue and it turned out to be that a friend had reassembled the blender jar parts after taking it apart to clean it.

Soup mate pro won't start

try powering off, removing contents from the container, refill using less contents and push the contents to the bottom plate. Turn power on. If beeping stopped it will work. Another thing to try is turning the rubber gear on the base or bottom of the container slightly then put container back on the base, as before do this while power is off at the power point for safety. Regards Greg T. My mother bought one and Ive had to step in as Im the only one to make it work. Hope this helps you. I am about to go past for the 3rd time of her using this device to see if I can help do a re-heat as she made a soup and its now not playing ball again 4 her. Forced to contact the distributor of course!

The red light on my blender keeps flashing but when i press any other buttons it just beeps twice and does nothing.

inside the jar ring base (turn it upside down) you will see little white tabby things in the slots, at least one of them has to be lined up with the 2 small grey contact points on the base of the blender.
I had this same problem!!

Oster 6700 Blender

The only thing I can think of is to try to repair the separated rubber with one of the special adhesives.
This may not be physically, ie, damaged beyond repair, but if you think it might be repairable try something like JB Weld. They make an adhesive that sets up in 4 minutes. I have fixed some weird breaks with this stuff.

Hope this might help Good Luck Loring
