No of course not James. The remote contains switches, which operate relays which in turn activate forward and reverse in the electric motors. You need to replace it, if in fact the fault is with the remote, rather than the relays or the motors.

READ the warranty carefully before purchase. In many cases the long-term warranty coverage applies only to breakage of FRAME parts only, NOT the much more expensive drive components that actually make the bed adjustable.
I have a 6 year-old electric adjustable bed sold by Tempurpedic with their mattress (but made by Reverie bedding) in July 2009 that stopped responding to its wireless remote a few days ago. Troubleshooting shows a failed Programmable Logic Controller (or PLC: the 'brain' of the bed's adjustment system). Reverie says they no longer manufacture a replacement for the failed part, but they have "a few used ones" on-hand for $300 that carry a whopping **4-Month** warranty. They did offer one other option, saying they could replace the bed's entire electrical system (power supply, motors, controller, and hand-held controller (remote) at a cost of well over $800 for the parts and service visit... Gee. Thanks.
Stopping production of repair parts for expensive products that are still well within their expected useful life-span, thereby making very expensive repairs the only real option is suspiciously *very* convenient for them, don't you think?
If anyone has info on where I can obtain the schematics for a Reverie model JB-MP-103 PLC, I would greatly appreciate you sharing.
Hi. Most likely a faulty switch in the hand piece. I had a hoist in for repair the other day doing a similar thing. The down switch was being pressed by the covering on the handpiece. You might be able to find someone in a local electronics store to look at it or buy a new hand piece. Try raising the bed and then unplugging the hand piece and see if the bed stays up. Good luck. Neil.
