Removed the screws on either side of the handle, the handle is SUPPOSED to slide out but the thing just won't budge! Have tried WD-40 and it still wont move....so how do I replace the foam?

Hi! I had the same problem...After some pulling, banging, and swearing I went to the kichen to put on the kettle to have some tea and try to think an another way to solving this problem, when I found the lemon juice bottle...And acid supposed to work on rust!...So I soaked those parts where the plastic and the metal is rusted together in lemon juice (citric acid :-) ) I spooned some LJ into the little holes where the screws were, than I waited about 5 hours...But no success. So in frustration I picked up a rolling pin, covered the metal part of the handle in a tea towel, placed the plastic elbow on a clean chopping board and firmly but carefully I hit the bendy part of the handle just above the elbows 2-3 times on both sides...I guess the acid and the resonancy from the banging worked, as after this I was able to turn both elbows to left and right, than pulled them from the metal :-)

Hi! I had the same problem...I stripped the handle-bar already, since the replacement foam was on its way...Than I couldn't take it apart!!! I used some lubricant that claims will remove and loose rust, but without any success...Than I turned into my kitchen and poured around a half a cup of lemon juice on each elbow, soaked both elbows in little plastic bowls with the lemon juice. I was spooning some acid into the little holes where the screws were before, and let it work its magic...After 5 hours (and lots of spooning) I picked up a rolling pin, covered the metal part of the handle with a tea towel, placed the folded up plastic "elbow" on a clean chopping board, and firmly but carefully I hit the handle at the bendy part 2-3 times...From the resonancy and the acid I was able first to turn the plastic elbows on left than to right, than to pull them from the metal... :-) Hope this help!!!

SOURCE: how do i replace the

If you need to replace the foam, you need to take the handle bar off first. You will find screws, below and above the button, on the side of the handle near to where you can adjust the handle height. This way you can unscrewing the handle and replace the foam.

Can't fold phil and teds dash,

I successfully fixed this issue today on a 2008 dash stroller. first remove the handle, you will need to drill out the two rivets with a 1/4" drill bit, but don't go too far, don't drill out the plastic on the handle piece. unscrew the four brake cable clips. unscrew the two screws securing the grey release clips. Prop stroller on the handle bar side (put padding underneath so you don't mess up your work surface) and the rear wheels. now get two small bladed screw drivers, you can gradually pry down the internal plastic locking wedge on either side till it releases the front wheel section which folds down. (on the left side which is likely functioning, you can just pull the plastic circular piece down with your fingers, as the internal wire is still connected)
Now grab some vise grips, lock onto the locking wedge and remove the whole mechanism, also remove the foam inside with a screw driver (this likely is what was supposed to keep the tension wire in place). Take the locking wedge mechanism apart. ( you will need to push the steel pin out with a small screw, it does not take a lot of force) Get a small nylon zip tie and secure it around the shaft on the tension wire connecting end of the locking wedge. (this will keep it from ever falling out(pulling through) again. This part (the locking wedges) should have been made out of aluminum or stainless steel and the issue would never occur. You will need to trim the catch end of the zip tie and make sure that it can slide freely inside of the plastic sleeve. now slide off the nylon zip tie and set it aside along with the spring.
Take the circular plastic piece (the 4" part inside that is near the handle piece with slots in it) slide in the tension cable. Slide the other end of the tension cable into the frame from the handle bar side till you can reach the end from the front wheel side. Now slide on the tubular plastic wedge housing and lock it in place to the frame (the detente underneath the frame lines up with the bump on the tubular sleeve), then the spring, then the small nylon zip tie, then the release wedge. Secure the zip tie onto the release wedge shaft and aim the head of the zip tie down so it can slide freely. Put some Vaseline or white lithium grease on the release wedge so it slides well. If the release wedge binds up you will need trim the zip tie head a bit more so it fits.
Next take the removed riveted posts and drill them out with a sharp 1/8" drill bit about 3/8" deep. (Use vise grips to hold onto these guys, as they will get hot, and make sure to use some oil while you drill to keep things cooler. Slide down the plastic circularly plastic pieces (you may need small screw driver to manipulate them down) so you can re-attach the two grey release mechanism brackets.
Re-insert the two formerly riveted brackets through the frame which will locate the handlebar properly. Get two small 1/4" sheet metal screws. Put the black washer back on, apply firm pressure and screw in the 1/4" sheet metal screws into the drilled out posts with a drill.
Re-attach the seat and you are good as new.
Note: The instructions may seem a little tricky, but you can do it.

Hello,

Hi I am trying to remove the handle on my phil

Put a screwdriver into the screw on the one side & hold the little grey attachement on the other, its only possible if you remove the seat and hood attachement first. Pull them over it so they are free from the little grey attachment. Hope this makes some sense...

Phil & Ted Sport V1 wobbles and pulls

Hi,

It sounds like that the tyre or innertube has perhaps become warped, this can happen when there has been over or under inflation.
I would suggest that you try first with a new innertube (get one from a local bicycle shop with a 'bent valve' as this makes inflation easier). If this doesn't help, then you can then try a new tyre and see if that helps.

I hope this helps.

you have to undo the 2screws each side to remove handle, and there are 2 screws on each side near footrest to undo. then it should slide upp the frame and off where the handle bar connects. sounds more complicated than it is should take about 10-15min. then the whole seat can go in the wash.
