The laptop seems to be booting up on powering on, but there is no display. It also seems to be powering on only when the adapter is plugged in. Battery life is also low. It is an AMD Duron64 proccessor. Please advise as early as possible.
The LCD requires alot of power so if your battery does not have enough juice in it
the computer just starts up the things that don't use as much power.
I would purchase a new battery and it will rectify what's going on.

Hi Friend,
In this case I would recommend you to please connect the external monitor to the laptop and check if you get the display on the external one or not
If yes, it means the LCD has some issues with the LCD cable
If nothing on the external as well, it indicates that the system video card or motherboard has some issue
Have a look at the label on the bottom of the V3000 laptop and check the voltage and amps power rating of the laptop.
If the DV9000 adapter has the same voltage and current rating (amps) or higher amp rating then it is suitable for the V3000 laptop, provided the power plug fits the V3000 power socket.
Check the laptop booting with safe mode option and if you are getting display, then install the proper display driver for your laptop will solve your problem.
your network adapter driver is not installed. Install it and then have a look . open device manager and in that look for network adapters if u can see there then ur driver is installed successfully..
